Cain would smash Mir up. Mir would be better off loosing all that excess bulk and learning how to fight on his feet. His stand up is average and his chin is just awful.

And the price of the ppv's reflects it. I hardly missed a ppv until this year, the price is up to $60 and now the card has to be dam good for me to get them. The cards in general are better because of all the new aqusitions but with sometimes 2 ppv's in a month it get's costly.

that's why they don't waste fights like having Brock have a "tuneup" fight which he should of had considering what he went through.

Very true. Although i still would have preferred Brock Mir 3 to set the back drop for his bout with Overeem. Would have made more sense for Brock as a confidence builder too. Plus fans would have got a quality rubber match.

i think brock wanted a big fight, as he said in his post-fight interview

he wanted reem (or another top guy) so he could get an immediate title shot after (if he won)

i don't think he wanted to dick around with gimme fights

i also think he wanted a real fight to test himself, and see if he still had it

Judging by the way he fought Overeem i doubt any of that.

why? he obviously didn't have it, and i think he came back way too fast, but with the money that brock brings in, he could have easily asked for a gimme fight, and dana would have happily obliged

errr, so? if they charge $60 a card it's because people will pay $60 a card

because a random poster doesn't buy each card means that brock couldn't fight a fluff fight?

they could have easily timed him for a roy nelson fight, or carwin rematch...but they wouldn't lead to anything...

No. What im saying is financially it doesn't make sense for the UFC to put on inferior cards with their cash cow facing opponents that aren't draws. Thus the reason why Brock was put in with Overeem in his comeback bout.

they could have easily hyped brock carwin 2 while putting on some nice undercard fights and still make mega $

Carwin was just destroyed by JDS in his last fight and has had more back surgeries and will be out for a while.

Big foot vs Cain is a good fight. The HW division should finally lead MMA. The Heavyweights should ALWAYS be the face of boxing or MMA. This hasn't been the case because people like Wlad and Tim Sylvia were the champs. Now MMA has real talent, real depth, real match making and the roster is insane.

The heavyweight champ in MMA is the undisputed baddest man on the planet and in the next 12 months we might find out who really is the toughest S.O.B!
