One of the biggest factors in getting a shot at a Klitchko is being willing to fight a Klitchko. I don't think there is a willing legit contender they haven't fought.

Tua fired his promoter (Cedric Kushner) and his trainer, Chris Martin, and Tua parted ways as Tua didn't pay him in full. Reports are also that his wife left him. I've seen nothing in the NZ papers about this fight, and no announcements except what I posted in the opening thread.

Suppose a tree falls in the forest and no one hears or sees it. Did it really fall?

I still believe he can get himself in shape and make something of this mess. If Danny Green can make millions per fight at his age then Tua can certainly string together a few wins and make himself viable again. He must be committed to fitness though...225-230 fighting weight.

Well, that's the frustration. IF he conditions himself, which he hasn't done since the Cameron fight, and the Friday fight he was ok, he could beat anyone not named Klit. But he refuses to do so, and has been like that his whole career. Even in his title fight with LL. So why would he get himself in shape now?

Tua can have half a mil paydays in NZ, and be in line for a big payday against the elite, if he took his boxing seriously all year round. He won't.

Tua will break your heart, if you care about him.

He does fight the older guys. Barrett for the third time. Friday is now 40. Of course, Cameron and King were around 30. There's talk of his fighting Meehan, who's around 40.

The only thing more shot than Monte Barrett is David Tua.

Malden, if you subtract 4 from Cameron, you get 30. If you add 4 to King, you get 30. So the average age between the two would be 30. But I believe Tua fought Cameron when Cameron was 31.

Sounds like a top bloke not paying his trainer. It's seems like Barretts comments about him being the Queen Tua might be spot on.

You are right :deal But not really an old man tour those two. Prime age for most fighters.
