Needless to say, the Czech isn't quite as good as the Pole. :yep

 

I'll say this for Adamek: he's probably the p4p #2 Bohemian boxer around today, FWIW. :conf (behind heavyweight phenom Ondrej Pala)

 

He does have the more famous Adamek's tendency to go to war. (sometimes to his own detriment). He's got a nice rangy jab, too.

He isn't world class, but only really loses to solid prospects & contenders.

The question is whether his Slovenian opponent is on that level. I'm not sure. Simcic is strong but has looked kind of slow and ponderous from what I've seen. :think

English is probably the only common language with such an international cast of talents & camps.

They're more likely to all have English in common than German, and most of the Germans in the crowd probably know some English as well.

Most people in Europe do.

 

Round 1

High jab by Simčič, who is giving up a few inches in height. Adamek hangs back and forks out his own jab. High flush jab to the chin by Simčič. Hook around the glove by Adamek. Simčič blocks a jab and moves his head behind his glove, but consequently doesn't see the follow-up left hook come whipping around to hit him in the chest. Nice jab to the face by Adamek, through the gloves. Simčič barks and double a jab to the body while circling close. Flush jab to the face by Adamek. Combo up top by Simčič, blocked. Barking up-jabs from Simčič. Nice left hook to the belt line by Adamek, borderline but not quite low. Wild can-opener hooks by Simčič, missing with the left and right as Adamek steps back and leans away, staying tall.

Simčič has spent some of his career building a presence in Germany unlike Adamek. Therefore he might get proxy "hometown" treatment and be awarded the benefit of the doubt in rounds like that first one as the ineffective aggressor.
