    In a real fight, possibly.
I wouldn't count on it though.

So it won't hurt when Dempseys fist caves in his eye socket?

Guys like McCall show incredible feats of endurence, but you have to be aware of what their body is going through.

I think McCall has a good chance stopping him mid to late rounds after Dempsey tries to blitzkrieg him early and then tires.

What outcome would you pick in a Jim Flynn vs McCall in a 15 rounder?

Or a Wilie Meehan vs McCall 4 rounder?

It's not entirely impossible, that's for sure. McCall sparred hundreds of rounds against Tyson and never went close to going down from all accounts. Sparring or not, i'm sure that at numerous junctions the 220 pound Tyson was letting loose bigtime. I'm not sure Dempsey at 185 pounds could overly throw anything more seriously dangerous at the Atomic Bull. He also took some massive bombs from big hitters without much trouble at all. He's a live one.

JT, enlighten me. Aside from the quick boxers Dempsey faced, avoiding most of his blows, what "taker" didn't Dempsey never drop. ? He kod big strong men [not great fighters perhaps] as Morris, Pelkey, Fulton, Firpo, Gunboat Smith, Willard, Bill Brennan ,all tough guys in spectacular fashion.
In his training camp he dropped Big George Godfrey several reported times . Any heavyweight who is hit solidly and often by the likes of a Jack Dempsey, a Joe Louis, or a young Mike Tyson will go to La La Land...
Oliver McCall ,a new cult figure included, IMO...Dempsey still holds the heavyweight record for first round kos at 25...Why can't some of ESB
posters accept what history shows us. That man could hit...I would bet my Lady Gaga garter belt, that the left-hook that dropped the 260 pound Willard in the 1st rd at Toledo, the right hand that Louis hit Paolino Uzcudun, driving the previously unhurt Uzcudun's front teeth through his lips, koing Paolino for the first time in his career, the left hook uppercut that Walcott flattened Ezzard Charles in 1951, and the right-hand grenade that Rocky Marciano kod Joe Walcott with ,would have dropped and kod
    Oliver McCall also ... Cheers....

Bert, I love Dempsey too, but I doubt he ko's McCall ,he probably lands enough power shots to force the referee to step in and rescue Oliver but I don't think we would see the Atomic Bull on the floor.
ps Willard weighed 245 for Jack.

Louis did not drive Paulino's teeth through his lips he knocked his gold falsies out, a reporter said they were sprinkled on the ring canvas like a charm bracelet.

Dempsey kod sparring partner, 7'2" 300lbs , Big Ben Wray with one shot, breaking his jaw in 2 places ,old Jack took no prisoners in training.

Larry Gains, who was his sparring partner for a brief time [whilst he was the Canadian Champ,] said the line of sparring partner's would be frozen with apprehension waiting for their ,"turn in the barrel", and "if one was not used that day the relief on his face was something to see".

Louis drove Braddock's teeth , through his gumshield, into his lips, monstrous power.
