Green - Tarver would be the biggest boxing fight I've been to. Went to Mundine - Ellis as a gym mate was fighting on the undercard, went to Taylor - Joval, again as a mate was fighting as the semi and Tosca Petridis - Iran Barklay. Other than that I've seen Troy Waters, Paul Briggs, Vic Darchinyan, Sam Soliman, Kali Meehan and Jimmy Thunder (against Collin Wilson) all fight live. For the big fights it's better to watch on a big screen at home with mates I think, although really enjoyed the Green - Tarver outing.

Been to quite a few 'big' kickboxing shows, had the good fortune to fight on the undercard of a couple as well.

Seeing Tosca Petridis beat Iran Barkley must have come as a shock. I realise Barkley was mid 30's and well past his best by then. But huge upset from a guy in only his second pro fight, even if he did have an impressive kick boxing record behind him.

Yeah, and I was a bit of an Iran fan. Although I was also a fan of Tosca's, that win would have to be one of his greatest. Apparently Tosca's camp tried to secure Jeff Harding for Tosca's first boxing fight. So much for padded records and avoiding the hard fights.

One of my mates did some rounds with Barkley at the Underworld in Flinders street in the lead up to this fight and recons Iran hit him as hard as he's ever been hit. It's sad to hear what has become of Brkley now, he was a great fighter I think.

I remember walking past the ring just as Tszyu Koed Sammy Fuentes. Tszyu power from that angle was something to see.

Tszyu leija, been to plenty of Vic's fights, I do prefer to watch at home or the pub, not a big fan of large crowds anymore

back in those days people in AUS had never seen anything like that imo. It was like watching a mini Mike Tyson, the power was breathtaking and almost sureal. Better yet was the Sanchez fight he was still with Mordey and oh boy could Mordey put on a show. Ring Card girls went topless during the break between the rounds for KTs fight, walked on the floor, not the boxing ring so the cameras didnt catch it. The Crowd went crazy, 5 diffrent girls , it only went 4 rounds so we never got to see the 5th girls jugs but they did flash everyone on the way out. Not bad for 17, cant even get into a strip club at that age in Melb

Maybe Craig ran that show? Bill was never big on the girls showing too much. He preferred them to wear evening dresses.

Craig? being young at the time i really didnt know who was who other than the main guys like Mordey and Lewis. Just assumed it was Mordeys doing, either way whoever it was deserves a pat on the back. Never seen anything like that at other shows, been to plenty pro/am shows , lots of hot ringcard girls and all but never any nudity.
