I believe he is to a degree. In the same way Brewster and Peter were, in that they all have a lot of power and great chins. Chisora fought in a completely different way to how Wlad would, and it was a fantastic performance. What Wlad and Chisora would have in common would be constant pressure and not allowing RH to set up his big punches. With Chisora (and Liakhovich) it was swarming and throwing a lot of punches in the process. With Wlad it would be a consistent hard jab. The problem for Helenius would be Wlad landing his big punches and him being too stationary to do much about it. I think he could fade fast if he doesn't bring the fight in the early rounds
After he lost all 12 rounds to Chisora in my eyes, I'd have trouble picking him against many of today's HW's. If Dereck Chisora can absolutely dominate him for every minute, why the hell would anyone think he poses the slightest threat to Alexander Povetkin, let alone Wladimir Klitschko. Worst thread of the year. I know it's early, but worst thread of the year here.
No. He has proven he cannot take a punch from Chisora. If he could, it would not have caused him to keep his elbows in his gut, refuse to throw an accurate combination or a powerful hay-maker, and eat non-stop leather en route to an embarrassment of a beat down.
Yes he is. He has the size and the power to be a threat. Just because he got beat by a smaller man who got in on him and out fought him doesnt mean that WLad can easily beat him. What does Wlad do that Chirsora does? How are Chisora and Wlad similar in anyway? They aren't. Styles make fights and style wise Helenius is still the biggest threat to the Klitschko's. You think if Chisora got handled by Helenius that it would Helenius signed to fight VK so soon? Doubtful. I still have faith in Helenius he's still just 28 and only 17 pro fights. He can still get better.
What? Are you trying to say Helenius has no heart and didnt try to win the Chisora fight?atsch And like Wlad is ****in Corrales or Gatti?
How no one can see that is crazy. Wlad had some issues with Thompson that was really the last good big man he fought. And both Thompson and Helenius are about equal when it comes to speed but Helenius has wayyyyy more power. Thompson was landing on Wlad but they were arm punches. Helenius can land on Wlad and it will be with a lot more power the Thompson did. I'm not saying Helnius definitely wins or should even be a slight underdog but I do think he has a better chance then anyone Wlad has been in with during his championship reign. Sam Peter could land on Wlad and I think Helenius throws better punches also harder and is probably faster then Peter. Imagine Peter vs Wlad 1 if Peter was the same height if not slightly taller then Wlad.
Wlad uses his height and reach as defense that doesn't work as well when you are fighting someone the same size as you.
He ate non stop leather and was never hurt but he cant take a punch? And Helenius wont have to worry about keeping his elbows in his guy because Wlad doesnt throw body punches.
This is what is wrong with boxing dumb as **** "fans" judge a fighter off one fight and dont actually look at the fighters individually.
