Sure, but coming to court claiming someone is defaming you, especially if you are not a private citizen but a public figure means you have to prove that it is very unlikely that you have ever taken peds, as its a person's right to speculate if you have or have not done something if their reasoning is has something to latch on to. And that is all before having to prove how you were damaged by the defamation. So Pacquiao needs to shut up and provide records or withdraw his case.
Not really, they can clarify their statements and provide proof to their belief, say an investigative piece done by a Newspaper or something along those lines. Something that would allow them to say. But this case entirely depends on Pacquiao and Co. Proving first Mayweather did it malicuously without cause for belief AND then proving how that has harmed him. Pacquiao has proof required for neither, as he has yet to provide the records and according to Bob Arum Pacquiao is making great PPV numbers beating Mayweather's even.
This content is protected . But you have people with no clue of the U.S. Legal Sysytem in here making ridiculous statements about what Pac should or should not provide. Pac can't claim Mayweather told a lie and then refuse to prove that it is a lie. It is extremely difficult for him to prove that he never juiced even if he does cooperate and provide all of his medical records... but he will get laughed out of the courtroom if he tries to push that claim through without giving the best effort to prove that he was clean. This is no place for these bull**** Top Rank boxing negotiation games. Either he and his team are forthcoming or that lawsuit gets stopped dead in its tracks. And any first-year law student knows this is a ******ed case to begin with, which is why most credible attorneys know that this case is nothing more than a threat designed to get some sort of negotiation leverage.
:rofl:rofl Okay, inform me how this lawsuit works. Because in court you need to prove wrong doing and damages. Defemation of the public figure requires proof that the person being sued said it maliciously and without any reason to believe so. And then, you have to prove how those allegations damaged you. Its a two prong case and Pacquiao doesn't have ****. But since this isn't the US Justice System we are talking about here and made up ******* dickrider court system, mind telling me how it works there?
Actually, he knows a lot more than you do. He is right. #1 Pac has to prove it a statement of fact. Pac has to prove that Mayweather said it outright... Not said "I think" or "I believe" or "he may be." #2 Pac has to prove that it's a lie This means he is the one who needs to bring forth all the medical evidence that would clear him of ever using PED's. #3 Pac has to prove that Floyd knew it was a lie This is the extremely difficult. Not only must he have been clean, but he must actually provide proof that Floyd never saw anything that would have given him the indication that he might have been on steroids. #4 Pac has to prove that his reputation was damaged. Pac has to prove that everyone actually believed Floyd. This is probably the easiest hurdle, but I doubt he will even get that far. #5 Pac has to prove that becase of this damage in reputation, he lost money. This is the highest hurdle, and frankly, I don't know of a single person in the legal profession who believes he can clear it. Since the allegations, he has gotten endorsement deals, megafight (ven got *******s running around talking about how he's about to be the new PPV King.) No one in their right mind will find that Floyd has impeded his ability to make money. The only money he didn't make was against Floyd, and that is a circular circumstance. He has to have been denied the opportunity by a third party. Lawsuit is ridiculous, and is only there as a purposeful roadblock. Everyone knows it.
1. Source? 2. How much did they sttle for? Or was it one of these "Undisclosed Settlements"? 3. If they did pay Pacman, it may have been because they weren't willing to put their own shortcomings out there when it came to the treatment of Pac. They are a promotional company who has to gain the trust of a lot of boxers... Don't think it's a good look for them to be dragged into a courtroom, innocent or not, about a defamation lawsuit. And this still does not change the absolute fact that this case isn't growing any legs in the courtroom, regardless of how many Pac fans try to push it.
