Bradley and Peterson are junior welterweights.

Granted, Tim showed he could hang against Abregu and Lamont probably can eventually move up with some success as well - but for now they're perfect fits at 140, and we know PBF isn't going to meet them that low.

I have no interest in seeing them against Mayweather at 147...not because they aren't great fighters (they both are) - they're just badly outsized and even if they weren't at a size disadvantage they'd still come up short against May. They're great, he's greater. And bigger to boot. It wouldn't be quite as bad as Mayweather-Marquez, but in the same category. Good little man vs. better bigger man.

Agree about Cotto being the best JMW. It's weird that there is even any dissent about that. It seems like it should be unanimous at this point. Once you get past the top few (Cotto, Lara, Molina) the division is weak as hell and has been for a while. It isn't like it's bursting with all this talent that you could argue putting ahead of Cotto.

It's also the biggest $ match-up to be made at the weight, or second biggest after Canelo (if you include all the Mexican pesos in the pot)

C'mon bro you are making too much sense business wise this is boxing here...
(They will just stack the undercard with us brown people as part of the package)

IF you make it, They will buy the PPV... :|

But the answer is: YES, Cotto is an absolute legit opponent. (#1 @154lbs)
(Rather this than Vs. Pac II)

Yeah, I don't get this either... Everyone knows we can just forget about Martinez. It's not happening. Cotto is exponentially more viable at 154 than nearly any other pick, including Canelo. Who the hell has Canelo beaten to this point that would make that fight legitimate?

Don't get me wrong, the name cotto will look better than the name bradley or peterson.

I just think moving up is a better contextual move than moving down.

Bradley has enough skill to hang at the weight and peterson is big enough to hang there.

Cotto throughout his career has began to show vulnerability whenever he's due a move up in weight (torres, clottey, pac)

Moving down in weight will almost guarantee a knockout loss for miguel.

how would it be his best win? who the **** is martinez? Pacquiao would be his best win not Martinez. Martinez has a shitty fanbase and cant sell tickets for **** in america. what does floyd have to gain in a Martinez fight? hes already won a title @ 154 and sergio doesnt even have a belt. Martinez vs Mayweather makes no sense buisness-wise. Cotto is the biggest draw behind mayweather and pacquiao.

Cotto has ducked floyd in the past and besides that has never shown real interest in fighting floyd. and ur a ******* FOOL for ignoring the obvious ducking by arum and pacquiao.

1st. pacs cut cant heal by may

2nd. when floyd was going to jail, Pacquiao all of a sudden was fighting may

3rd. now that floyd will be free for may arum says pacquiao will fight in june(the month that floyd has to turn himself in) :patsch

exactly. people think just because its May 5th floyds opponent has to be mexican. when they can obviously stack the undercard with a bunch of good mexican fighters

Cottos the 2nd most overrated fighter on esb. I don't want to see mayweather school a hype job who's last 3 wins have been against shot injured fighter. I don't think mayweathers gonna fight cotto. Cotto already lost to PAC and would be seen as fighting pacs leftovers

Yes a lot! Umm go look at old threads. I was always the one defending cotto and most floyd would claim he is shot even after just the margarito beatdown.

    Did they really?

People said he was shot? "A lot" of people did?

You sure maybe they weren't saying that the plaster wraps (once Brother Naz exposed them) and before that just the beating itself from Margarito had "ruined" Cotto, both in terms of his punch resistance and confidence.

Because I remember "a lot" of people making those type of comments.

I don't remember "a lot" of people claiming that the man then in his late twenties at the time he lost to Pacquiao was "shot".
