I think so. That guy is boring as ****. He'd fit in perfectly in the UFC with that boring safety first wrestling style.
For the life of me iv never understand the bandwagoners with this guy. He's just sooooo boring to watch. Every one of his wins is a boring wrestle fest where he just lays on his opponents and does **** all.
I wouldn't have minded had he lost the decision last night. I missed the 1st round, but he did nothing the rest of the fight outside of taking it down. Woodley was not trying to improve position, he was not trying to do any damage via ground and pound, he was just laying on top of his opponent taking elbows to the top of the head.
That ref was crap. First off he should have stood them up numerous times when Woodley was stalling. And secondly those 12 to 6 strikes were illegal. Boring fighter. Plus that gimp stood them up when Mein was going for the keylock?!?! I hope he never makes it to the UFC.
It's the perfect record w limited experience.. That safety first style is exclusive to men who grew up wrestling IMO.. His opponent wasn't the man to make the fight you wanted to see anyway. He hasn't had an opponent bring out the best in him yet.. Give it time.
Iv been watching this guy for a while hoping that he was going to show some promise that everyone was talking about. But **** me he's just too bloody boring. He does **** all in the guard and is entirely a safety first fighter who prefers to look cute and do as little as possible to scrape a win.
child please. When he fights a name you recognize your ass will watch. It's the competition and limited experience.. This thread will be full of contradictions as his career unfolds.
I cant stand watching him fight. Mein's half guard was wide open for about 2 minutes straight at one point last night and Woodley refused to attempt a pass.
I thought that he was going for an arm triangle at one point, but he just sat there with his shoulder pressed into Mein's neck in full guard. The officiating was horrible in that fight. There should have been multiple stand ups for stalling. If Woodley is the top guy left at 170 in Strikeforce, they might well close up the division.
I'm certain that he has ref'ed UFC matches before. Remember that refs aren't hired by the UFC, but the commission.
Who's been over-rating him? All I've heard is that he's a good fighter by Strikeforce standards. Which he is.
