You do make some good points, however I place him at a level much higher then Gatti and Ward. Gatti and Ward never beat a fighter to the level of Jermaine Taylor's capabilities.

I agree completely I was just likening them in the metaphorical sense. Both lost many fights but were revered for this 'try their best' mentality.

Pavlik needs to do the same. :good

Pavlik is an exciting fighter that could do something still, but I dont know if he will be able to do anything at SMW.
If Pavlik can still get down safely to MW, I think he would be best there. Some fighters cant do it at a certain weight and one of the problems for Pavlik is that he has been a bit exposed

He can't handle movement at all, he may win a few but up against any of the top guys I think he's done.

He's still relatively young so I think the jury is still out whether he is done or not. He has a blueprint set out on him regardless of the drinking anyway, lets hope Garcia can do some big things with him

Pavlik didn't amass his amateur record being one dimensional. KO's don't get you that far in three round fights. When he moved to pro, KO's proved to be effective and lucrative. Ask Martinez about rounds 4-8 if you think Kelly can't handle movement. Kelly can't handle alcohol and he was in rehab instead of training for that fight.

no, he is done.He was very limited skillwise but he was tough with a huge heart and that was his best weapon. Now, alcohol took it away from him and i dont see he is getting the help he needs.

not sure if 160 is best category now because 2012 is going to be fierce with Kid Chocolate and Jcc Jr going strong in USA while Pirog and Proksa and Golovkin seem set to dominate the rest of the world. Sturm seems like he could be there for the taking in Europe while Martinez still looks strong in USA. But I think Pavlik will find it tough no matter what division he launches his comeback.

This pale pasty piece of **** is a disgrace to the sport of boxing and to all the dedicated fighters putting their blood, sweat and tears into it.
