Which of these contenders have the best chance of dethroning Martinez

I'm assuming here that Pirog/Golovkin/N'dam won't be in US this year either hence why I haven't included them on the list.

Since Jcc Jr, Kid Chocolate, Rubio and Lee are got great tv exposure in 2011 it seems as though they have the best chance of being offered a fight at Martinez. Of course probably not all of them want the fight.

In my opinion Macklin is a live underdog while Martinez is the favourite.
Kid Chocolate has great skills and beat McEwan.
JccJR has improved a lot and is a very big middle weight that could be a real threat. But mentally does he want it or is he happy to have Bob set up up without facing SM?
Lee certainly want's it but even though Di Bella is his promoter doesn't look like he will get a shot any time soon. But he does seem to finally have HBO on board now so he has a chance.
Quillin looks fantastic and like Lee has been getting good tv exposure also. Rhumors that cEwan did not have a lot of preparation for the fight and the fact that it was straigt after a war with Lee may leave some in doubt. Personally - I think he is a serious threat to anyone at 160 though.
Than finally we have Rubio who has bounced back well against defeat to Pavlik and has JCCJR in a very intriguing fight next month!
As for Pavlik - apparently he is making a comeback. Let's hope for boxing sake he does. Taylor is back at 160 also but apparently is injured right now. Martin Murray got a draw against Sturm but will have to more than that right now. I hope martinez himself stays at 160 but big names in other divisions might finally draw him away.

The Macklin fight is yet to be 100% confirmed but in the next week or 2 we should have a clearer picture. Apparently Lee will have a big name opponent and if that is one of the above mentioned fighters than that could be a strong indicator that the winner of the undercard finally gets HBO backing for the next SM shot or at very least - another high profile HBO fighter (JCCJR).

 

None of those guys, except possibly Quillan.

Pirog, Golovkin, N'Jikam or Proksa would have a better chance.

 

I don't disagree that those guys have a chance. But my questions really is based on the reality of the 160 division as opposed to a "what if these guys could get it on" type scenario. And as long as those 3 continue to fight outside of the USA I don't see them getting a shot against MArtinez. HBO won't bite.

 

I didn't vote for anyone on the poll since none of them can beat Martinez. The one who can beat Martinez IMO is Floyd Jr. (at 154).

Andy Lee and Quillin, although I'd give Andy Lee a bigger chance than Quillin against Martinez.

 

Macklin- tough and strong, can be outboxed, but still has a chance
Quillin- skilled fighter, but not necessarily ready and who knows what his chin is about?
Chavez Jr.- big, strong, and boxing more under freddy roach's tutelage. has a chance
Rubio- monster puncher with tricky skills. I don't know if he has the boxing skills to do it but you can never count a puncher of his caliber out.
Taylor- If he hasnt lost it, which we dont know yet, at middleweight, then he can give martinez a tough argument.
Lee- rangy with poise, good power and boxing abiiity, but for some reason I see him getting outboxed.

macklin already beat Sturm and barker already showed us Martinez aint all that spectacular if you employ fundamental boxing skills and keep your guard up, and in my opinion Macklin>Barker, and he'll want it more than Barker did, so he certainly has a chance of the upset.
