After I watched his last 2 fights against Mosley and JMM, now I'm just wondering if he's still as great as he was druing 2-3 years ago.
I think Pac and his out-of-the-ring-only nemesis have both declined, but that tends to look worse on someone with Pac's style. He doesn't have the ring IQ to compensate.
With Mosley he looked bad cause Mosley was running for dear life, its hard to look good against a fighter who is simply trying to make it to the finish line and not wanting to fight, with JMM that's just a stylistic issue Pac has yet to fully resolve.
Perfect assessment right there. He is on the decline, still great, but he is going to drop fast. Keith
He is on the downhill, talk about legs cramping up in his last two fights, certainly jmm has never been an easy fight for him, but he looked worse than ever in the latest fight of their trilogy, The Mosley fight was a gimmie and he could have landed more shots on mosley had his legs been better and if he actually had a desire to hurt the super polite shane,
Problem is, floyd is jmm times 5. Bigger, faster, stronger, younger and has a higher ring iq I have been saying all along that the people around pac would never allow the fight. Now if floyd were to lose his next fight and look like **** doing it team pac would be all over it.
Pacquiao peaked a few years ago and is now exiting the prime of his career. Definitely on the decline.
................... This content is protected Two lackluster fights do not make Pacquiao a washed up fighter. But maybe, maybe, the hunger is no longer there. Maybe, his outside-of-the-ring commitments are finally taking their toll on his focus and dedication. Maybe the lack of competition is turning him lazy. Maybe success has gotten to his head and he now believes he is indestructible. Maybe he is finally ripe for the picking and, as the prestigious Sports Illustrated predicts, Pacquiao will finally lose a fight this year against, of all fighters, Juan Manuel Marquez in a fourth fight that will have Top Ranks Bob Arum salivating. What drives fighters to excel is their hunger and desire to reach the top. Once there, they need to continue to be hungry to maintain their competitive levels. Once the hunger is lost, the way down could be as quick as a free fall. ..........................
Im getting sick and tired of some knuckle heads here thinking pacquiao is on decline because the way he fought in his last two fights. Look before facing mosley, pacquiao destroyed margarito but yet pac started his decline vs mosley? Lol. Pac before facing marquez has won easy fights ever since he move up to ww but now is on decline? Lol this is stupid. Vs mosley I thought pac look bored cause he knows mosley is past his prime at 39 years old in which mosley cant pull the trigger. And as benny mention, pac look bad in that fight vs mosley cause mosley was running away refuse to fight. Now vs marquez, it proved marquez style will always be difficult for pacquiao. The leg crap is a bad excuse to say the least. Pac imo is still in his prime in which I guess im the only one that sees that.
