alot of people seem to put him in the Chavez jr. category saying hes a paper champ and hasnt proven himself. i disagree, chavez fights old men with losing streaks. Broners last few opponents(besides one) have been pretty good fighters and legit opposition for an up and coming fighter.

u have De Leon, good fighter and only had 2 losses when he fought Broner and had a good KO percentage(broner fought him before Gamboa did) and started his career as a KO artist with 21 KOs in a row.

u got Litzau, good record, 2nd ranked american Super featherweight at the time, he just beat Juarez and Caballero. and to some, Broner was an underdog in that fight.

no excuse for his last fight, dude was a bum. BUT undefeated champ Ricky Burns blatantly DUCKED, vacated his title, then moved up in weight. so broner deserved any easy shot if the #1 fighter bitched out.

now, he will be makin his first title defense against undefeated Eloy Perez whos ranked #9 @ super featherweight.

i dont know about yall but Chavez have never fought undefeated fighters, fighters with good winstreaks, young hungry opponents, and rarely top 10ers. Broner hasnt been getting the same hypejob treatment as him. and i think he has proved him so far. better competition will come in the future. but as of right now he has been fighting decent competition so far. what u think?

I like bronee, he's young, cocky and has skills. Boxing needs more up and comers like him. I dont think he would duck anyone now because he has something to prove.

You have De Leon who many felt beat Broner...fighting well out of his division, you have Litzau who was nothing special (beating Cab out of his division and the ****ing useless Juarez don't impress me). The Perez fight however I will give big respects for. It's a shame that at 130 you've not really got any big names and the best fighters (well fighter) is a Japanese guy who punches like a ****ing beast. I don't think we'll see Gamboa settle at 130 either which is a shame.

in the de leon fight people seem to think broner lost cuz the mexican crowd went crazy every time De Leon threw ANYTHING. in reality more than half of his punches were blocked and broner landed more punches and the cleaner punches. its stupid to call a close fight a robbery anyway.

Burns blatantly ducked Broner? He went up in weight and fought Katsidis in a fight where he was a BIG under dog. GTFOH

Dunno why but Broner gets far too much credit from HBO fighting as main event against such opponent as Vicente Rodriguez, not to mention that card had **** undercard(Gary Russell Jr vs Heriberto Ruiz).

Broner G talk is ridiculously funny.

He's headed in the right direction though. I won't complain about opposition just yet.

Judging him by all ranked guys' standards:

de Leon: C+ (de Leon is good, normally a B, but due to the close nature and weight)
Litzau: B (blowout, top 10 at the weight, coming off a hot one)
Rodriguez: C+ (top 15 at the weight)

Broners' last three fights are beyond legit for someone at this point of his career. And Perez for a first defense is mighty fine too, a top 10 guy himself.

It's good. I mean there's nothing wrong with it, he's not being protected or anything clearly.

I like the Litzau and Ponce fights. The Litzau KO was impressive while the Ponce fight was not so much, I thought he lost. I don't like Rodriguez ( Don't know him ). But love the fact that Broner is fighting Eloy Perez a Top 10, Maybe even 7, 6 or 5 fighter is very good.

Considering his young age Broner is doing fantastic whether you think he won or lost to Deleon who just recently gave Gamboa a tough fight. I'm not going to over praise him either the Mexican fans had nothing to do with DeLeon getting robbed most felt he won I think it was a draw PDL landed some clean shots too when Broner trying to shoulder roll like Floyd. He's definitely a better fighter than Chavez Jr that's for sure.
