Bute vs Froch is good because Ward is hiding behind the "he isn't ready and needs to prove himself" bull****.

Hopkins has unfinished business with Hopkins. Why have people gone cold on that fight. Did anyone expect Hagler Hearns in the first round?!

Kessler could fight Ward as in fairness, he would have been in the final and he may also have the WBO belt in his trophy cabinet soon.

Froch needs to earn another shot. And he needs a break.

Usually I would agree but in fairness this fight is more about proving whether Bute belongs amongst the elite. If he can't beat Carl then I don't think he can live with Kessler or Ward.

Froch is a rare case where I would welcome him getting a title shot off of a loss. Just because he is one of the few fighters who fights top guys every time and thus fighting Bute would just carry that on.

Froch is likely to get stopped in this.

He should have taken an easy fight, i know its not like him, but a 10-15 ranked fighter in nottingham would have been perfectly acceptable

theres a fine line between bravery and stupidity.

im not sure which side of that line froch is on.

He seems to be at his peak right now and probably doesn't want to waste time fighting anyone but the most highly-regarded opponents. He's not getting any younger, after all.

    Bute/Hopkins would be a stinker.

on the other hand I think Bute/Froch would be a classic, with a chance of either fighter being stopped. Let's hope for Froch's sake bute doesn't bring his personal referee so when Froch KHTFO there's no chance that Bute gets any extra long 30 counts.

I'm thinking Bute should be the favourite over Froch but not sure if its an opinion based solely on his (Froch's) last fight...

Also, I just don't get this 2 leg fight thing. It's like it's a gimme that the first fight will be entertaining enough to warrant a rematch. I can see why Showtime won't be feeling that.

Bute should be a prohibitive favorite based on being a far superior fighter.

he's better at everything than Froch and frochs only real chance is hope for a lucky shot to land, and that bute cant take it. but considering Froch hasnt really hurt anyone since Taylor i think thats highly unlikely.

The Ward fight showed how limited he is, and Bute is simmilar talent level albeit different skillset to Ward

bet on froch to get ko'd within 8 (body shot)

When has he shown this though? Yes he is skilled but Ward has performed better against tougher/more skilled opponents. They're different: and Bute may do the odd thing better than Ward (e.g. body punching) but Ward is superior in most other aspects including ring IQ.

Bute is quicker and is also the hardest puncher in the division whereas Ward is basically feather fisted, as an offensive fighter Bute is the best in the division and this is proven really by his steamrolling of Andrade, complete shut out of Johnson amongst others.

Froch doesnt match him offensivley or defensivley in fact it's lopsided in Butes favour.
