Frazier takes a hardfought UD (9-6) decision over Frazier, Ali stops Weaver around the eleventh, Foreman stops Dokes in the fourth due to Dokes' inability to cope with Foreman's strength, Quarry decisions Berbick, and Cooney stils stops Norton, albeit a round later.

Hi Stevie m8 - i am back from my Christmas holiday abroad. :rasta

Did you have a nice Christmas And New Years??

Anyway to answer teh topic -

Frazier VS Holmes = Smokey Joe takes clear UD, gruellingly grinding at Larry after a tough slow start, 10-5 in Rounds scoring.

Ali VS Weaver = A real whupping, Weaver wobbled And stopped on his feet in Round 8.

Foreman VS Dokes = Big George does what Big Daddy did with big uppercuts too, TKO1.

Quarry VS Berbick = A tight Decision for Jerry, about 8-7.

Norton VS Cooney = King Kenny hangs in there despite being rattled early, then boxes like a master to decision a dog-tired Cooney, 11 rounds to 4.

    Foreman Hoooooooooooooooooooook!:hat

Long time no see,Hook ! Yes,I had a good Christmas, and hope you did. Happy new year to you :good

I agree with all your forecasts, except for Norton-Cooney. Ken was a better fighter, allround, than Gerry, but he would always get poleaxed by someone with Cooney's style, imo.

Aye m8 I did too. :thumbsup

I understand your opinion on Cooney-Kenny, even though Cooney did not beat teh real King Kenny.

I am making a new topic inspired by yours, so please pop on over And have your say m8. :thumbsup

I agree on Cooney versus the "real" Norton. Just because Cooney beat the '81 version, doesn't mean it's a guaranteed cert that he beats peak Kenny - it's like saying Berbick would always beat Ali!

I know some will say that Ken lost devastatingly to Foreman and Shavers so therefore he would ALWAYS lose to Cooney, but I'm not buying. Kenny was on the downslide post Holmes in June '78 when he lost to Earnie, and you can't equate Cooney's win over Norton to Foreman's. There is a CHANCE Gerry could blast peak Ken out...but it's not certain imo. Peak Norton was a vastly different animal to the one Cooney destroyed. Younger, fresher, stronger, hungrier, better legs, match tight...Norton was a toothless lion by the time Gerry got him.
