If he can prize Cotto away from Arum that would be the fight. Him or Canelo. Guerrero isn't a bad fight but he isn't a draw, a Morales fight would probably still do more sales

Canelo is a fight that can easily be made. He may not be as experienced or any more proven than Guerrero, but his size and strength makes him a far more threatening opponent than any lightweight.

Almost your entire list is more legit than Guerrero and thats saying something.
There is no way to justify Guerro (i still have my doubts its going to happen anyway) unless its a stay busy fight on FREE HBO.

If this comes off over the last 5 years his record will be a JMM that never fought at the weight before and was flabby as hell (and Floyd still felt the need to cheat on the scales), old as hell Mosely and then Ortiz and Guerro.... with a resume like that over a 5 year span he should barely be able to be a p4p top 10.

Its not bad perse but really for someone thats calls himself the GOAT?

I mean around 140 - 154 i can name 10 fighters easily on the top of my head that are more deserving than Guerrero and would have more of a chance.

Ahh yes, Berto or Madiana.. I forgot those two.

Either way, Floyds beats them both very eailsy. He's still get tons of stick for taking it.

They are fighting in Feb, no chance for them to be ready on May 5.

people should not think too hard. floyd's only options are GBP fighters since if we are looking at floyd's history for the past years, he would not fight any non-GBP fighters. so the choice can easily be rounded to gurrero and canelo. well add maidana and if morales win this late january.

Cotto is the only name that works as a PPV attraction.

Cotto is a free agent, that should be an easy fight to make.

Martinez should be an easy fight to make as well. Mackiln can be paid step aside money

Don't really trust that website. But it's listed on Boxrec. :good

Cotto's with Top Rank (at least I think he still is), and Martinez is already tied into a March date with Macklin. Mayweather really has ran out of decent opponents to pick.
