the US entered the war when US interest were at risk. I am not saying this is good or bad it is only reality. Either they were afraid that Germany would become the dominate nation or heaven forbid that the Russians defeat the Nazis and claim Europe. Besides there was the advancements of nuclear technology by Adolf and the gang. As you put it the Americans never entered the war to save the Jews . . . if they did, they would have welcomed them with open arms after the war!

You tried to belittle the plight of the Jews and disident germans by comparing their lives to those of civil rights activists two decades later in the US. I think your reasoning is far more inappropriate honestly.

One is a slow burn struggle against Tyrany over a long period with, like you said, systemic discrimination and dehuminization, the other was a decade long campaign of discrimination, dehumatization, torture and death on a scale that cannot be compared to anything else in the West's history.

 

Why would that be the case? Couldn't it just as easily mean sales to the military? The military produces nothing itself. Everything starts with private industry. This is an industry with a ton of restrictions placed upon it specifically so that private enterprise can sell without having to go through the Military.

Actually no. This came later. I don't think America, or Britain for that matter, would have gotten involved if they knew that the Russians would be able to turn the Germans. Remember that it was later in the war that the extent of the concentration camps became well known, even at the highest levels.
