Pacquiao says his cut is fine: Does Arum know that?
    January 10th, 2012
By Chris Williams: Contrary to what promoter Bob Arum has been saying about Manny Pacquiao needing until April 1st before his cut on his right eyebrow is healed, Pacquiao is saying his cut is fine and he’s ready to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 5th.

So what’s going on with Arum? Is he is on the same page as his Filipino star or what? This is the big question that needs to be answered because someone is the boss and we’re going to find out that real soon in the next couple of days. Arum is meeting with Pacquiao right now in the Philippines to pick out the next fighter for him to fight in either or June depending on if Arum gets his way or not.
Pacquiao told Manila Standard “There is a possibility of fighting Mayweather in May and I’ll discuss what is best for us to do…[the cut is] fine and there’s no problem.”

Does Pacquiao want the Mayweather fight? If you were to go on past events, you might have doubts about that. In 2010, Pacquiao wanted a 24 day cut off for random drug testing for performance enhancing drugs and when Mayweather refused to agree to this, Arum and Pacquiao moved along and fought one of Arum’s fighters Joshua Clottey in a boring mismatch. But did that sound like someone that really wanted to fight Mayweather? A 24 day cut off for drug testing? I’ve never of anyone doing that before, but I wasn’t surprised that the Mayweather-Pacquiao didn’t get made that time even with Mayweather agreeing to a multi-million weight penalty that they had asked for.

Pacquiao is going to have to make his own case with Arum that he should take the fight with Mayweather instead of one of the four beatable guys that Arum has hand-picked for Pacquiao to beat.
    • Here are the issues that are holding Arum back:

    • Pacquiao’s cut needing until June to be properly healed

    • MGM Grand too small for Arum to make as money as he wants

    • Arum worried that Mayweather won’t get approved by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his boxing license

    • Arums saying that he can’t properly market the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight if it takes place in May rather than June.

Fight won't happen then. Obviously Arum doesn't want to negotiate with Mayweather.

its bob not pacman i been sayed that. bob is the boss plain and simple. if he wants to cash out a few times on pacman before a mayweather fight so be it. but pacman might lose before he fights mayweather if he dont pick the right fighter or bum.

Now that Pac said his cut is fine, wait for Floyd to back out on his words.

May 5? I never said that, I never said that at all, don't put words in my mouth. :rofl
