The guy's still only lost to BJ and Edgar at lightweight. Its a better record than anyone he could fight in Strikeforce especially as Noons vs Thompson is already booked.
Melendez is earning more than any UFC lightweight other than Edgar. By no means does going over to Strikeforce mean a paycut.
Sean Sherk is back . . . . on the roids? :yep Wouldn't mind seeing him fight Nate Diaz at 155, that way the Diaz's can be MMA's Klitschko Brothers.
Hard to know what he'll have left after being off so long and getting older. His style requires lots of energy and explosiveness so if he's lost even a half step then he's going to be pretty ineffective. I hope they give him someone decent but not top tier so we can see where he's at before he takes on guys like Henderson or Maynard. Lauzon or Guillard or someone like that.
I take that on board. But people have beaten polygraphs before, and how many sportsperson have admitted to drug after they've being caught? Not too many that's for sure. I'd provide a list but it would probably exceed the maximum number of characters allowed in this text box.
Got no problem with either man. Both were pioneers. I don't consider Sherk to be of that ilk. Very capable no doubt about that. But HOF? Nah that's a stretch.
That was a lame joke regarding the PED's. The guys in there now are the pioneers, and deserve to be in there, but Im not exactly sure what Zuffa's criteria is for any future inductees. He's a former Champ, and hasnt seemed to **** Dana off, so maybe he'll get in. He's only lost to the very ELITE in the UFC aswell, personally I think there's room for the B-level guys
Sean sherk aint Gilbert Melendez , he isnt the top man in the production is he ???!!! Sherk would be earning contender wages , it doesnt matter about his status in the UFC past or present , he'll only earn what a SF production can produce in revenue , this is business , and thats not half as much as he'll earn in 3rd or 5th from main event fight in a UFC production FYI - Edgar's purse for Maynard 3 - http://www.mmafighting.com/2011/01/03/ufc-125-fighter-salaries-frankie-edgar-earns-162-000/ Melendez's purse for Masvidal - http://www.mmamania.com/2011/12/20/...-salaries-gilbert-melendez-gegard-Mousasi-mma
That's just his base. He gets more. And Zuffa has lost money on Strikeforce given the cost of fighters. Most notably Fedor vs Henderson
