^ Roach is a dick but what he has achieved is amazing. This is a series about his life and any dumb ass that mocks it should be burned alive.

Apparently not... theres no narrator at all.

As boxing fans know, Roach is amid a daunting personal battle. A former boxer with more than 200 fights to his name, Roach was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, which doctors believe is traceable to his fighting career. "On Freddie Roach," which uses no narration except for the occasional voiceover from Roach, lets this solemn detail expose itself gradually. There are brief, artful glimpses of Roach's trembling hands; of the trainer practicing wrapping tape; of prescription pills by a hotel bed. Later, Roach is shown at the hospital, fastened to his back, sliding into a machine for a brain scan.
Roach does not ask for pity—"I wouldn't trade my life for anybody's," he says—but his condition delivers a sober counterpoint to a sport consumed by bravado and often requiring a brazen denial of long-term consequences. This is the kind of reality that gets ignored in the noisy build-up to a prize fight, and what makes "On Freddie Roach" so absorbing is its subject's refusal to airbrush any blunt truths.
Roach matter-of-factly divulges his chaotic upbringing, his abusive father, his resilient mother and the perils of a fighting family. In the second episode, Roach's brother, a former boxer named Pepper, suffers a medical emergency not long after sparring with a young pupil. In the commotion, Freddie Roach is briefly undone.
This is not to say this series is a downer—Roach is sharp-witted and funny, and boxing's chintzy glamour, as always, offers an irresistible backdrop. Roach's cramped Hollywood gym, the Wild Card, is now a boxing mecca, and the trainer enjoys the trappings of success—a slick Mercedes in the garage, the ability to pamper his mother and a flattering appointment as a U.S. Olympic boxing team coach. Like his most famous client, Roach, too, is a boxing-world celebrity.
But if you linger long enough to see the entourages pass and hear the trash talk subside, boxing reveals itself to be a lonely sport—men left unaccompanied, armed only with their training and their determination to push forward. As the textured "On Freddie Roach" shows, that solitary fight doesn't end upon leaving the ring.

    DEEP LYRICS PEOPLE DEEP LYRICS!

i wish that i had known in that first minute we met the unpayable debt that i'd owe you
cause you'd been abused by the bold and refused and you hired me to make up for that
walking in that room when you had tubes in your voice they're singin' morphine alarms out of tune
they had you sleeping and eating and i didn't believe them when they called you a hurricane tundercloud
while i was checking vitals i suggested a smile you didn't talk for a while you were freezing
you said you hated my tone it made you feel so alone so you told me i had to be leaving
but something kept me standing by that hospital bed i should've quit but instead i took care of you
you made me sleep all uneven and i didn't believe them when they told me that there was no saving you

    :'(
