Cotto is the only Mayweather fight I would buy, outside of Pac and Martinez right now.

That's my point. This whole notion of fighting someone leftovers is ridiculous.

Well Pac don't want to fight him, so why not? Floyd would be fighting a bigger stronger Cotto then what Manny fought. Sure Cotto is older now, but not older then Floyd and he don't have to drop below his fighting weight to fight Floyd. It's a good challenge for Floyd, and I think he should go for it.

I don't disagree I think it is the best and most interesting fight that can be made.

Just like at the time for pacquaio the most interesting and best fight for him was to fight Oscar and hatton. He wasn't fighting them because they were left overs, they were the most interesting fight that could be made.

Mosley was an awful decision though

In their primes, yes. I would buy ringside tickets. Would love to have seen Floyd Sr brutally knocked out.

Tell that to Mayweather. His foot in mouth disease is what will lead people to call Cotto a leftover and shot, since Floyd himself said he was after Margarito.

I have to disagree as far as the De la Hoyle fight is concern. Considering all the weight De la Hoyle lost to fight him, it kind of took the luster off the fight. He was better off fighting Marquez or Mosley rather then De la Hoyle. Mosley had just went up to fight Mayorga a couple months before the Pac vs Hoyle fight. Rather then moving up at that time, Mosley could of fought Pac then, that way it would not have been so much of a weight drain on the other fighter. He could of fought Oscar at a later date once he got more adjusted in the welter weight division.

Are you crazy? Who turns down a DLH fight? :patsch
That was the only reason Pac went up to welter. He would have likely fought the rest of his career at 135 and 140. Certainly would not have moved up for Mosley for the same money he'd make fighting Marquez, Casamayor, Juan Diaz, Valero.

And the fight was thought to have been a complete mismatch in DLH's favor. Him coming down in weight didn't take any luster off it, it actually made it sellable. Why do you think Oscar who dictated terms to every opponent was willing to do it? Hell he probably even suggested it. Oscar wanted Hatton at 140 after aswell. It's the only way it could've gone. You didn't expect Pacquiao to have gone from 130 at the start of the year to 154 for the fight? Love these revisionists

Agreed. I don't fault Manny for fighting Hoya, I just hate the accolades Pacquiao is given for the victory. Hoya weighed 145lbs on fight night for Christ's sake.

Mayweather will dispatch Cotto, but this is the best fight that can be made outside of Pacquiao or Martinez. Prime or no, I still want to see this.
