I've seen Pac in person (media training and prefight hype events in Vegas and Dallas). TBH he's a small dude. I'm telling you man, he could make lightweight easy. Compared to other elite athletes (NBA, NFL), he's not very imposing at all. He just looks like a very fit Asian dude with huge ass calves. This is part of what makes his welterweight run so great. Haters gonna hate but I always thought his fights against the Clotteys and Margaritos of the world were no gimmes simply from the size differential. He also doesn't come off as being a pretentious ******* which is great. You know, the type that refers to themselves in the third person. It was kinda funny actually. In Dallas he'd be pushed and pulled away by his handlers coz he literally couldn't move from point A to B coz he couldn't say no to an autograph request.

...But there ya go, 50k seat arena in Manila 2014 for Pac's retirement fight. I'm there son. But dude, I'm sure no one's gonna care who the opponent would be at that point.

That $10K figure is off, unless you mean post Scalpers which doesn't mean jack to Bob Arum.

Most likely the fight would max off at $5K a seat, which is more than double the price of a ringside ticket at Mayweather-De La Hoya.

 

I think people are both over and underestimating this figure. It probably won't be $40 million, but it could easily be $20 million.

If you are the guy being asked to write about $80 million in guarantees, you would want to try to pick up this money too.

You can't expand closer to the ring, you can only build outwards. meaning all the money generated will be from tickets at the lower end of the spectrum. So your argument that you can double the amount of ringside seating is false. Nobody is going to be spending $10K to sit on another persons lap.

As for the price that seating could fetch, Mayweather-De La Hoya had ringside seats of $2K a piece. Pacquiao-Mosley charged $1000. Couldn't find prices on Pacquiao-JMM 3. But assuming this fight would do enough attention to get $10K for a seat is just as nuts as saying both guys would get $100 Million to fight each other. This fight isn't that popular.

Also, there is another problem with a stadium. Like what happened with Pacquiao in his two fights at Dallas Stadium the live gate shrunk in the larger venue. That is because the supply had been increased so much it dropped the price of the tickets overall.

As for where the stadium would be located, it isn't like they are sticking this thing in a parking lot.
