You realize that the Soviets had already turned the tide against the Germans, right? Stalingrad was the tipping point for the Eastern Theater and that was in 1942, roughly two years before D-Day? Yes, Stalin was constantly pushing for an opening of the Western Front in order to relieve pressure on the Soviets, but, rest assured, the damage to the Germans was done to a much greater extent by the Soviets. Hell, Churchill kept putting off Stalin's pleas for as long as he could, even advocating the invasion of Italy.

Saying that the threat of the Western Front falling was more important than what was actually happening in the East is a pretty ridiculous argument.

 

Come on m8te took a history class in College, so he REALLY knows his ****! 90% of the World is wrong about what happened and 95% of posters do not know a thing! The only facts that exist are the ones that support his case (which are very slim . . . can anyone say WMDs). According to M8te, the USA single handily won the war, everyone else did nothing! Finally, The Russians folded when the first shot was fired:deal
