Bob Arum has given Floyd Mayweather Jr. until Saturday to get the ball rolling on a late-May welterweight unification with Manny Pacquiao, according to information provided to Sports Illustrated. Mayweather, who is scheduled to return on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas - will have to agree to a date in late May - but Arum is willing to bend on the venue. Arum will back away from his plan of an outdoor venue and stage the fight at the MGM Grand.

Arum proposes a 50-50 deal, but the veteran promoter is only willing to guarantee Pacquiao's 50%. A third party, Golden Boy Promotions or otherwise, will have to guarantee Mayweather 50% of the take. If someone guarantee's Mayweather's 50%, and both sides agree to a date in late-May, then Arum says the fight can be "made in ten minutes."

If the ball is not rolling by Saturday, then Pacquiao will return on a date in June - against either Miguel Cotto, Juan Manuel Marquez, Timothy Bradley or Lamont Peterson.

If Floyd was giving this deadline (twice at that), what would you think?

If he is willing to bend on the venue, does anyone actually believe there is a good reason to want the fight in late May as opposed to Cinco de Mayo? What would be a credible reason to want to move the fight to late May? I'm done with this non sense. This fight isn't going to happen.

This is basically an FU response for Floyd trying to set a date and book a venue without first talking to TR.

Should be a big deal to take this offer, but he wont.

If he is backing off the stadium, why not fight on the 5th?

since arum just said he is "willing to bend on the venue," what's wrong with the 5th? why can't manny fight on the 5th if the stadium issue isn't there anymore?

**** Arum. The only way this fight gets made is if he dies in the next 2 weeks.

Arum is going to blow the biggest fight in history by trying to time Manny's decline in an effort to cash him out. If Manny gets KOd, Arum would be left with absolutely nothing. This is a huge gamble on Arum's part.

    arum isn't that dumb

if he wanted to let manny lose it wouldn't be to lil floyd

he'd feed manny to one of his other tr fighters so he can run more bs about how this new guy is the "greatest fighter he's ever seen"

but y can't manny fight on the 5th?

that cut bs is just that, bs

at first i wasn't trippin if they wanted to hold off a couple weeks for a stadium to rack in more money, cuz if i don't make money, then it don't make sense

but since bob said no more stadium, so what's the big deal now? that stadium thing was their only legit (at least in my view) reason to push it later

but since its not an issue anymore, why can't manny fight on the 5th?

I get that you are on Top Rank's payroll and everything, so this will be the last time I address you, but I would like to request that you do a better job trolling. When I read a troll's post, I at least expect to be entertained. Please do better.
