Theres no evidence that Hitler wasn't under the ring eating cheerio's dressed in a pink tutu either, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...-ibf-hearing/2012/01/11/gIQAAS2zqP_story.html Team Peterson come out fighting. I have a feeling the IBF will refuse to order a rematch
It needs investigation before any hearing. Until they prove he DID something untoward, there is no case for an enforced rematch. This is all about Khan getting his belts back without fighting Peterson again. And there's no way GBP and Khan will honour a rematch. If he got an NC, he vacate the belts and move to 147 citing problems making weight.
^^^ Even if it was changed to a NC - Khan would HAVE to fight Peterson. It would be worse than not fighting Prescott again. If he tried to go to 147 then I'm sure Peterson would follow.
^^ Yeah kind of but this really has no precedent tbh. An extremely close fight, allegations of dodgy judging and a poor referee. Khan won't get a Floyd fight if he can't prove he is better than Peterson. But yeah it is Khan...
whether Khan gave Maidana a rematch or not is kind of a moot point, Khan was the Champ who won a UD allbeit with some shakey moments. Khan was under no obligation to give a rematch. How many times have we heard the champ say to the defeated challenger that theyll give them a rematch after a close fight but it not actually following through. Let's give a Khan the benefit of the doubt here, he is still young and there's nothing to say that he won't give Maidana a rematch in the future!
It's a relevant issue. Khan and his fans are claiming he will give Peterson a rematch. In the past he has promised the same and not delivered.
Who has he promised a rematch and not given? Can't seem to find anything about a Maidana rematch online
Its not obligatory for the champ to give a rematch to the challenger after he beat them. Where has it been said that Khan will give a rematch to Maidana, outside of any post fight interview in the ring.
The Maidana rematch made no sense for Khan or his team, he had gotten an extremely hard fight out of the way also getting a win in the process. Rematch would have been Too high risk with very little reward. The only people who wanted a rematch were Maidana and neutral boxing fans. (Maidana 2 would have been much better than the MCcloskey and Judah fights but i don't blame Khan for making those fights) The Peterson rematch makes sense for Khan, big money fight and to save face by winning this time and getting his titles back.
by that same reasoning, and especially after the disrespect Khan and his team (and his nuthuuggers) have shown to Peterson, he is under no obligation to give Khan a rematch...Khan would almost certainly not give Lamont a rematch if he had won.
