Confirmed Macklin V Martinez

Should be a good fight and I hope Macklin takes his chance here, but I can see him getting stopped within 7.

 

Macklin is made to make Martinez look like a superstar.

 

Macklin started with a high workrate but couldnt mainitain it for the 12, in the last few rounds he was knackered and Sturm came on strong.

Sturm was clearly bigger and stronger, every punch Sturm landed done more damage than 3/4 of Macklins.

Macklin may have won the fight If he had been able to finish each round as strong as he started.

 

Can see Martinez winning this comfortably, Macklin should be looking to face Barker or Murray.

good point, Sturms sneaky trick of letting Macklin bust him up for 2:30 seconds of the round then coming on strong for the last 30 seconds after Macklin has worn him self down leaving his defense easier to pick apart with hard shots through and around the guard, that won him the round everytime (in the judges eyes.) Macklin appeared to be doing less damage to Sturm because he (Sturm) absolutely tortoised it up in there giving nothing but arms and gloves to work with. I don't think that Sturm can hit harder than Macklin at all but because he was conserving so much energy whilst not fighting he could fight in more explosive bursts.

Anyhow in my opinion Macklin has slightly better engine than Barker, who just kind of gave up altogether in the last few rounds vs Martinez, whilst Macklin was tired but still trying hard. I think Macklins heart will carry him further than Barker and like posters have been saying this could make for a great fight as Macklin turns the fight into a punching contest and probably gets knocked down several times, I also believe Macklin has the power to gain matinez's respect, watch for the left hook on the inside :good

 

But we all know what will happen

I hope its a close fight but as has been said Macklin is tailor made for Martinez, although Martinez is getting on in years and has had a long carear he might just be slowing down so who knows .

 

This is a great fight for Macklin and the best of luck to him.....If he catches Martinez early with something big anything can happen

I've never watched it in my life, I like Macklin and will hope he does well but think it's a step too far.
