Big pay days? Look at what Barker got it wasn't that big of a pay day. Where do I say stay a way from world level? There are other belts he could go for.

Macklin is not as defensivley minded as Barker, he is a come forward guy, I see him walking into one of those clubbing hooks in the mid rounds.

He will come to fight thats for sure, good luck to him.

Martinez is the true champ in everyones eyes except governing bodies.

 

Anyway Macklin already beat Sturm so Martinez is the natural progression, hopefully Macklin doesn't share certain peoples view that it is a step too far and will give us a great fight win or lose.

If the difference in money was ridiculous I'd advocate that stance, but there's no point going to Germany and getting screwed again for short money, when he can fight the real champion on Paddy's day.

If he gets KTFO, so what? Start again, can always go for a paper title down the line and rack up a few defences if he so chooses.

I think Macklin, Barker and Murray will all take turns at Sturm and Martinez none will win but they will all get good paydays.

They can then finish off with fights between themselves to prove who's best and that will finish them off with a few more good paydays!

IMO Murray is most likely to win a title.

I don't think Macklin did beat Sturm, tbh. I think Sturm edged it 115-113, but Macklin showed he can cope at that level. Not sure how a rematch would have went down as I reckon Sturm made the mistake of underestimating him, but it's good to see Macklin taking advantage of the momentum he gained to challenge the real World Middleweight Champion. He belongs at world level, and you've got to respect him agreeing to a fight with Martinez rather than looking for a fight with an alphabet champion or an "All-Irish" fight with Andy Lee.
