No Bute-Froch II if; KO within 6 rounds or UD > 6 rounds difference

I think we're in for a second fight. The 6 rounds figure is tight either way!!

 

I got a lot of respect for Hearns. He seems to work well with other promoters and seems to have a good rep with them.

 

Good thing they thought to add that in there, it would have been ******ed if one of them got KTFO in round 3 after taking a beating only later to expect a pointless waste of time rematch.

I like this......as I spent a few minutes on our latest show discussing this very subject.....it's good they won't be stuck with a second fight if the first one don't call for another.

A friend of mine said to me before 2-3 days ago that Bute Ko's Froch in 4 or 6 but I think there's about 1% chance of Froch losing under 6 full rounds, there's a bit more chances that Bute will win a wide UD tho. :think

but if Froch manages that then there shouldnt be another fight

i dont see Froch having any more success vs Bute than he did with Ward

i would rather see Froch vs Kessler 2 a more winnable fight and get the big fight Bute Ward

What will make this fight really exciting is the animosity between the two, both their punching power, and the Froch boos from the Montreal fans.



Ranking in terms of probability, I got;

1- Bute UD/SD
2- Froch KO/TKO
3- Bute KO/TKO
4- Draw
5- Froch UD/SD

 

Dirrell called Bute a top fighter (but still protected) on OTR.

 

So, even if it's a 9-3 blowout for Bute where Froch got a few undeserved rounds, like he did against Ward, we would still be forced to watch a re-match 6 months later?

If that were the case, I'd rather see Bute/Dirrell and Froch/Groves in November.

Froch hasn't KO'd anyone since Taylor, before the Super Six started. He's 34 years old now and hasn't scored a KD since then.

A Bute KO is more likely than a Froch KO. A Froch decision would seem to be the only way he wins, and basically for the supposed first fight anyway, that means a draw.

 

Yeah, its the same situation if a fighter dominates all rounds and gets the knockout in rounds 7-12. Still a rematch.

It's pretty hard to put in words how to get around this though (other than, of course, only signing for one fight - which I suppose does put Froch at a bit of a disadvantage as he has to travel to Bute's hometown, but as stated, he is the challenger now).
