atsch bit of a joke really. I'd like to say first, it will be a good fight just like the first, and to see it again is good for the fans. BUT...my problem is, this ruling sort of gives credence a little to Kons pathetic spoiled baby tactics after his loss and somewhat justifies his appalling sportsmanship since the fight. It helps the Kon men argue that something fishy did actually happen to make them lose when the reality is he took a good opponent lightly and was dragged into a fight he couldn't handle. It also shows that the bigger name money men always can bully the other guy to get what they want. I hope Lamont shows this kid up for what he really is and stops him next time in a way that Kon had no excuses this time
No not really. Moaning aside Khan deserved the rematch which Lamont was likely to duck. I know it's hard to make a reasonable judgement with all the hatred for Khan pulsing through your veins. lukily the WBA and IBF won't be taking petty emotions and likes or dislikes into account when making their judgements and will judge solely on what happened at their last fight, which was, a man who has no affiliation with the WBA or ringside officials was seen distracting Michael walsh and a judge at ring side, and also handling what appears to official papers and/or scorecards. That is literally all they will take into account. this, overall, is good for boxing fans because the rematch is obviously going to be a great grudge match and should promise fireworks. Can't figure out why anybody would be angry at this decision other than some pety anger at Khan getting his way.
Khan sent his Muslim brother to talk to the Commissioner and would use that as an excuse when he knew he had been beaten.Let's face it,The Mystery man was well known to team Khan so this appears like something these guys would use.Well calculated strategy The IBF will probably have a different decision and also Peterson probably has a right of appeal in the WBA decision. If Peterson gets a better offer somewhere he will take that offer. He is with Arum and Arum is known for spoiling especially since Khan is with Golden Boy. If the rematch happens Peterson will get a chance to knock Khan out because as the fight progressed Peterson had Khan figured out.Roach is a ******ed trainer and I do not see Khan's tactics changing.
That was a given. WBA would prefer to have Khan holding their belt. Let's see what the IBF say. They may allow Peterson to fight whoever he wants next; to which Peterson would happily drop the WBA belt if he feels a rematch with Khan isn't in his best interests. However, this'll only be the case if he's guaranteed Pacquiao, or maybe Bradley, next. If neither of those two are available for him, it wouldn't make sense for him to go anywhere else but Khan. Not only would he make more money against him (more money than Bradley, even), but it's probably the right thing to do, too - a rematch to settle the score.
The Mystery man said 'I will not do anything to hurt my Muslim brother'.Inside job to be honest. Also the WBA President told of his verdict before the hearing so how could the hearing be fair. If Peterson has option he can appeal this decision. I'm sure the IBF will have a different decision.
I don't see the big deal. It was a close fight. Paterson won because he out worked Khan and for no other reason. The rematch should happpen because when a championship changes hands there should be a rematch, unless the margan of victory is really great.
Although it will make it more likely. Which is a good thing because a rematch promises to be a good fight. Im not interested in Peterson fighting Pacquiao and getting a one sided beating or KTFO, neither am I interested in the fight with Bradley, where undoubtedly everyone watching will fall into a coma.
