Cotto announces that he's a free agent

    I thought he was re-signing with Arum, he said he's open to working with Arum but he is a free agent. If Mayweather can't get Pacquaio then surely Cotto is the next biggest draw?

    Arum said 'Mayweather won't be able to get Cotto', we'll see. Mayweather said if he fights Cotto he'll be accused of fighting Pacquaio leftovers but it's probably the second biggest fight for him financially

    Imagine if Cotto signs to fight Floyd, with TR being left out the picture.

    Bob Arum will call Cotto a gutless coward! :D

    I hope Cotto vs Mayweather happens !! for either the WBA championship or the WBC welterweight championship. That's the only fight I want to see other than vs Pacquiao.

    I've been saying it ever since Floyd kayoed Ortiz- he will fight Cotto.

    Perfect. Was this just announced to confirm the rumor from last week? If this was just announced today, this could all be a part of this whole hyping up from Mayweather. He can go on how Pacquiao chickened out and Cotto stepped in.

    And the whole story can be played up of how Pac caught Cotto at the right time, the weight conditions, lack of a trainer, out of the ring drama, etc.

    Yeah, he's now on a fight-by-fight basis with Arum. I wonder what exactly this entails, because there still seems to be something that's keeping him tied to TR.

    The only reason why he is keeping ties is because he wants to avenge his loss to Pac. Other than that, he is done with TR for the most part.
