I think Anderson saves his best for the fight, like Ali

I think he isn't scared to have some hard sparring and not so egotistical that he needs to win every second. While he is messing about he is actually working on things. Just like Ali taking a beating but he's work that full guard on the ropes and his kidology.

FYI - Bader gets smashed if Andy decides to move to 205. We also get to see the front kick pre Segal!

Bones would destroy him. Wouldn't even be close. Anderson is on the way down, and he can't beat a good wrestler that actually follows a game plan.

    More incredible insight from WillMunny.

Why did Okami not beat him then?

He's fought two top level wrestlers in his career. Hendo, who dominated when he stuck to his game plan, and Chael, who dominated for all five rounds. 185 is the weakest and least evolved division in the sport. A fighter like Anderson wouldn't be champion at any other weight.

I'm not saying it's Anderson's fault. Nothing he can do about everyone around him being awful.

Munoz is a dangerous fight for Anderson too. He's going to have his hands full with whoever he fights next.

He beat Henderson IN THE SECOND ROUND.

He submitted Chael Sonnen WITH A BROKEN RIB

I don't know why people think sprawl and brawl is the only way to beat a wrestler. From Mark Coleman vs Maurice Smith, going with the takedown and defeating the wrestler off the back has proven to be a very effective tactic if the person has the skills to pull it off.

I was down on Silva vs Jones for a long time but I think its actually the most interesting fight. Jones has been open about how jiujitsu is his weakness. He barely took Shogun and Machida down and was clearly wary about wanting to spend too much time on the ground - something he didn't give a second thought about against the likes of Jackson or Bader. His long limbs are a grappler's dreams.

If Silva can beat him standing - which I think he can - then Jones may be forced to take him down. If he does then it becomes a question of whether Silva can work off his back and get the submission. To me that's the best gameplan to beat Jones and Silva's the best man to do it.

Hendo dominated the first following a simple, takedown based strategy. Chael won all five rounds doing the same thing. In both cases, they lost because of stupidity, not because of ability, or Anderson's greatness.

He hasn't fought one yet. I know, it's sad. The alleged GOAT, has avoided any and all sylistically bad matchups until recently. When he finally stepped up, he got mauled for five rounds.
