Come to think of it, Alex Ramos was stopped by Poncho Carter at the 1978 Sports Festival.

Riddick Bowe got stopped as a young, young man once in an amatuer bout in Catskills.

He met the same guy 5 years later and beat him from pillar to post.

As a pro, fell off the mark by a very good margin, amateur, just probably missed it. 189-9-2,132 by knockout, 1979 National AAU Middleweight champ, 4 time New York Golden Gloves champ, beat Mike McCallum on the way to that final Golden Gloves title. Despite all that , had the rep for having a weak chin, which followed him to the pros.

Don't how much of this true as Goins won GG in 1970 but still:

BoxingInsider: What was the greatest moment of your boxing career?

Aaron Pryor: “Is when this guy named Norman Goins, out of Indianapolis, when I was 16, he was probably 21. He hit me in my stomach…Ooohhh! And I got up off the floor and finished the fight. That was one of my biggest moments in boxing. This was the Golden Gloves in 1971. I didn’t win. But I got up. That’s the only fight I ever lost. I was never stopped in my whole career. I fought him as a pro – I got the payback. In my ninth professional fight (KO 9 in 1979). He had just beat Howard Davis. He beat Davis but they gave it to Howard.”

Igor Vysotsky stopped Tony Tubbs, late in 1976, in a dual meet.

    Tony Baltazar v John Montes

An amateur boxing cross town rivalry between Tony and John Montes had been building up in the late '70's. Both had being getting some good amateur wins, so it was just a matter of time that they fought. On our part we were ready to fight Montes at any time.
John Montes came into the JR boxing program in the early '70's, whereas Tony started in '64 and by the mid-'70's (1976) had already won the National JR Olympic title, we felt that Tony was too experience for John at that point.
At the time they fought Felix Villareal was the amateur matchmaker for the Olympic Auditorium pro/am cards. Felix called me on a Monday and said that the Montes's wanted to fight Tony on Thursday night, I said okay, Felix then said that it had to be at '32, again I said okay, Tony can make '32 if that what they want I told Felix. Thursday morning we got to the weight in’s, Frankie fought the pro main against Shig Fukuyama, both Frankie and Tony made weight easy.
That night before the fights started I run into my Uncle Florentino, my dad's brother at the Olympic, he was with a group of Montes fans. He told me that Tony better win as he was betting every one of his friends that were backing Montes. Tony ended the fight with a beautiful left hook in under-30 seconds of the first round, Montes was out cold for over 5 minutes. Frankie stopped Fukuyama I believe in the fourth round...

Both Tony and John went on to become top rank lightweights in the pro ranks
