It could/should be a very long time before he gets back in the ring, even for sparring. My guess is that his eye will take a very long time to heal up IF it ever does and he decides to return to boxing.

I'm "east side", close enough to Ohio and Y-Town, so I don't know....BUT I get the impression that Coach Garcia is "big time" out there and folks would be glad to get a chance to work with him and his fighters.

Also, I'm gonna assume that higher profile fighters pay more for one to get in there with them...which should in turn attract the more talented and tough SOB's to come a callin'. (?)

I do NOT yet have any idea how to feel about it. I loved the chemistry between Kelly and Jack, it WAS Team Pavlik and for a good while it WAS good.

While I may be best described as skeptical, I do feel a glimmer of hope with the situation.

    Let's Go KP!!!!

His future depends on whether he's able to throw the double jab like a pro in his next fight!!

My Take on it is simple.

If! and when Kelly Pavlik steps back in the ring. We will all know how Serious Kelly is in 3 rounds.

Is he Throwing Punches like He has Something to Prove?

    Is His killer Instinct Back?

When He Stuns a fighter, does he take his time to finish? or Does he smell blood?

He did not show any of this when he Fought Lopez.

He blasted Lopez on the way in every time.

Lopez was straight charging in for the HUG over and over. We saw him on FNF's last week, be damn hard for anybody to look good against that cat.

Yea, but when he had landed a good stunning punch, like he did 3-4 times. He never followed up with the Right hand. No instinct!

My 2 cents for what its worth. For whatever reason following the Hopkins fight Kelly seemed to want to turn into a boxer, which he has good skills but in my opinion possibly not world class. That is just not what he does at his best. As I said b4 kelly needs to get back to the old Kelly Pavlik and throw a hundred +power punches a round, take some chances, because he has a chin of steel and at the end of the day, that is what he does best and that is what got him to become middleweight champ of the world.

Sorta a boxer-brawler. High volume of punches and a lot of power punches, but has a solid jab, good fundamentals, and sound technique.

It's about making the most of what you have. He isn't the fastest so he needs to work his way into position, which he does nicely for the most part picking off punches. A little more head movement wouldn't hurt. But yeah, throwing a butt load of 'hurt' is its own skill and has some defense implied.
