Brock Lesnar was 100% going into UFC 141, Overeem was a better fighter

I overlooked the 10 years point rather than ignored, that much is true though, it is easier.

Frank could have retired after the Vera fight and Im sure would be making a comfortable living running a BJJ school and training other fighters, maybe even media work. But there's a reason for the phrase ''Fighters are born not made''

So does the fact that Fedor clearly wanted to retire after losing to Silva and had to be 'convinced' not to by his handlers make you think less of Fedor? He'd have been the same age as Lesnar is now when he made it clear he was done with fighting.

I suppose what I'm saying is the fact that Mir was able to come back and eventually improve his career makes me think better of him than worse of others.

Nah, Brock was thrown in at the deep end, and to his credit, got as far as he possibly could with his limited skill set and time not being on his side. He put on entertaining fights, win or lose, and I dont begrudge him earning a few $'s during his career for that reason alone.

Now Fedor (I'll stick with the swimming theme, for some unknown reason) has been in the shallow end of the pool since PRIDE's demise. The Arlovski match was a rare dip of the toe back into the deep end of the pool, but as soon as he dived in he sank to the bottom. But as with Lesnar, I dont begrudge him retreating to the shallow end to earn a few easy $'s in Russia and Japan, even if I do think it's more M1's wishes than his. But Im under no illusions that these fights are anything other than what they are, and have no bearing on today's HW rankings

Both guys hearts arent truly in it anymore, just Brock has the lucrative WWE avenue to fall back on, Fedor has the Russian and Japanese market

I don't disagree with you said, I know there are differences between kickboxing and MMA and have said this already.

I also will agree that to an extent you can say JDS has shown better 'MMA Striking' than Overeem but only when you go by the Werdum fight as that is the only common opponent. Overeem has destroyed every other opponents he has faced with ease, and he almost exclusively used his striking.

The fact of the matter is though that there is nothing that is so significant between kickboxing and MMA that would render his K-1 accomplished irrelevant like you said. He is still a very good striker and a better striker than JDS and like I said in the beginning I think this wins him the fight.

Although I unlike respect your opinion. You could be right but I think otherwise.

It was a grazing punch that landed because Overeem was expecting a shoot immediately, so no not really

I thought it was a scratch from when Brock was trying to finger his eyes.

Is that what it was? I didn't notice that and didn't really see anything during the fight so I assumed it was from a grazing punch.

Jesus Christ. Extending both arms with your fingers splayed like that is the kind of thing a ***** would do. Imagine training that big lummox for months then he gets in there and falls to pieces like someones grandma trying to fight off a mugger. This isn't Brock being malicious it's just him being ****.

Its what he said, I was just letting guys no the news. It wasn't an opinion thread or anything although it probably came off like that because I had to shorten the title.
