He was great, achieved more then most, then solidly dented his status and reputation by punking out at the first hurdle! Basically a very talented and slick, grade a coward, who entertained many (inc me) for years, then bitched out instead of rising to the challenge
Some people handle loss badly. Barerra took his self belief but he was still a great boxer maybe not mentally strong.
You just dont see that kind of flair in boxing anymore though mate..thats why UFC is taking over.. Even Mundine use to do a flip or two in the ring..the good days are gone
Im not upset mate...but people like you don't know boxing,the guy beat every featherweight(that was ranked in his day)... no they were not all manny pac's or Tysons or any real house hold names etc,but the guy beat who was ranked,won all the belts, for what the guy acheived by 28 how is that not a great career?
To be honest i don't think anything you said was wrong but i felt what you omitted was important. To take your gloves and go home at the first sign of adversity takes away from his legacy imo. It was a poor way to leave the game and the fans.
