i hate when this happens, never really liked rumble either what a **** i was gonna predict vitor but now im not so sure
It is a ridiculous weight advantage and Vitor obviously did the cut which no matter what anyone says it effects you.
if he has to weigh 205 today they will probably enter the ring the same weight give or take but vitor will be the one who had to drain himself, fight shouldnt be happening, if rumble wins there is still gonna be a big ?????, hopefully vitor pulls it off and we will all be happy think im still gonna predict with vitor i dont want any part of me wanting rumble to win
I don´t tink that Vitor is at a disadvantage he should be happy that Rumble missed weight. If he losses he has an excuse (I dont think that he will lose), Rumble is at a mental disadvantage (if he losses he might get cut) and at a physical disadvantage ( Vitor will be completely rehydrated while Johnson has only some hours to rehydrate and couldn´t eat and trink properly)
your speaking hypothetically a lot there, if he had to be 205 today that gave him another 8 pounds to play with and he didnt have to cut weight, well perhaps he cut a small bit but nothing compared to vitor make no mistake the physical advantage will be with rumble, although mentally its a tougher fight for him now as you said
It's alleged Johnson weighed 187 pounds and needed to shed only 1.5 pounds three hours before weigh-ins. But the fighter suddenly started feeling ill or weak at that point. They called a doctor and he was told to rehydrate which took him back up to 197. Either Rumbles team made a shocking miscalculation or the dude is injured. Either way that dude used to make 170lbs. He knows 'how' to make weight. This content is protected And the UFC would have known about this long before the weigh in as his team would have informed the promotion about the doctors intervention.
Vitor makes the cut easy. Dudes not on D-Bol anymore. Remember that dudes been on gear since the early UFC's. He was always a blown up light heavy. Same as Wand. His natural weight has always been closer to 85.
So he got a few hours head start on rehydration? Suggested by a doctor no less? This content is protected
Like i said in my post -which iv since edited- Johnson apparently felt ill. Hardly surprising if he was that badly depleted just before the weigh-in. The choice here is pretty simple to me. Either take the doctors advice and get better or remain ill and hope you can rehydrate quick enough after the weigh-in. The lata would have been a stupid choice. But whichever way you look at it it was definitely a poor miscalculation on Johnsons part as his weighed 170lbs before. How can you move up and also struggle to make weight at the new weight unless he was injured or miscalculated his weigh cut. That said the dude can make 85. That im pretty sure of.
If this is true, and if Johnson loses tonight, this is probably what will save his job with the UFC. I think everyone has been reacting so negatively toward Johnson because he has a history of this. If he has a valid excuse, I'm sure he'll be ok career wise.
He's missed weight twice before and the reason he fell ill was because he was trying to cut too much weight too quickly. He's lucky he is fighting the star of the show in the eyes of the home fans because otherwise his fight would probably have been cancelled and he'd have been fired on the spot. The man's a disgrace.
If Anthony is sick/injured, we should give him fukin credit for stepping up and still fighting. He's fighting his toughest opponent yet, give the guy a break.
UFC is probably going to cut him. "To be honest, we're probably going to cut him after this event," UFC president Dana White said. "Three strikes and you're out."This is his third time that he hasn't made weight. He's the co-main event in a huge fight down here in Brazil. This one was a bad one.
Apparently he hit 187 and couldn't feel his leg or his leg was getting numb so the doc told him to rehydrate. Hasn't he missed weight 3 times? He doesn't know how to cut properly if that is the case.
