... Now I know what you're doing. Laughing uncontrollably to yourself as you read the title, but honestly, if Pacquiao is indeed fighting Cotto, it takes two potential opponents off the table, and really only leaves Alvarez. I actually think this fight could have some interesting elements to it, namely that kirkland is bigger, tenacious and it's possible Floyd doesn't have enough pop to do real damage, even with James' shaky whiskers. YES it would be a boxing clinic of epic proportions, but never count out Kirkland's determination.

I would honestly rather see this than a fight against Canelo...

I'd rather see Cotto-Kirkland and Mayweather take on Canelo is Mayweather doesn't end up fighitng Pacquiao.

Floyd has no business in a boxing ring with Kirkland, not at this stage of his career. Kirkland is too big and strong for Floyd, IMO. This isn't Hatton, or Manny, this is a big, strong, rough ass dude. People will say "Floyd beats him easily...etc etc" but at some point brute physicality becomes more than skill can overcome.

Cotto-Kirkland is a tantalizing one, too.

Any variation of the following individuals @ 154 as a matter fact would be intriguing (Alvarez less than the others, but still):

    Mayweather
    Cotto
    Kirkland
    Lara
    Alvarez

Floyd has NEVER seen anything like James before, the closest he's seen is Ortiz, and that's not very close.

That's why I think it would be an interesting matchup. James is going to keep charging forward all night. Floyd has the conditioning to go 15 rounds.... I'd like to see it.

Floyd embarrasses Kirk. Wouldn't surprise me if he KO'd him.

You do know that Kirkland is scheduled to fight Carlos Molina on March 24, so FMJ is not gonna happen.

The fight against Molina may show how things would go against FMJ. I think most(many?) are picking Molina to outbox him, and win.

I actually didn't know that. Molina is a tough dude and that's another really good matchup.

Basically, anyone vs Kirkland is a good matchup...

Kirkland wouldn't be able to see into round 4. His eyes would be swollen shut against MOney. 3rd round stoppage.
