Abraham is currently the biggest P4P puncher imo. He cant compete at the very highest level but against a certain standard of opponent he is brutal.

The great Latin-American featherweight/lightweight contender Aurelio Herrera is probably up there. The link below contains an outstanding article on him with testimony from plenty of great fighters and scribes alike claiming he was the hardest puncher ever. Have a gander all, it's a top read.

I haven't seen anyone mention Lew Jenkins yet either, ****ing crippling hitter he was. Nobody's mentioned Dempsey either and whatever you make of the revisionist history that has affected his all-time standing, there should be little doubt that he was, at his best, one of the most destructive of all punchers. Marciano too; you were never the same after his fists had had their way with you, ala Layne, Vingo, LaStarza, Charles, Walcott, Moore etc.

Two other Brits era's apart who haven't been mentioned are Jock McAvoy and Hoko Hodkinson. Flea already said Colin Jones, and seeing as I've brought him up again, I haven't seen many punchers like him who were so sedate, so seemingly without real killer instinct or an awareness of what destructive power they actually had. Surprising in a way and yet not all when you factor in what a nice bloke he's meant to be, yet I'd say he has a fair case for being a harder hitter than someone like even Trinidad in recent years.

Jesus Pimental is a puncher I've been rewatching lately too.

Read that on Herrera, Ribs. Was a monster puncher.

Jenkins as well, but I was rolling with footage only otherwise I might've offered Joe

A guy who was a ferocious hitter from Bantam to Feather was Dwight Hawkins, but despite the quality men he fought I've never seen any footage of him knocking about.

I'd rate all of the following in no order, as harder punchers

    Ray Robinson
    Sam Langford
    Thomas Hearns
    George Foreman
    Joe Louis
    Ike Williams
    Joe Walcott
    Julian Jackson
    Wilfredo Gomez
    Sandy Saddler
    Eder Jofre
    Terry McGovern
    Joe Frazier
    Freddie Steele
    Alexis Arguello
    Mike Tyson

I definitely don't agree with Ike, Gomez,Saddler, Jofre, McGoven, Frazier, Steele (whom I don't no too much about), or Arguello vein harder p4p punchers than Lil Jimmy

I stand by the pick of fighters that I listed, I don't even think Wilde is the hardest punching flyweight ever, I believe Benny Lynch was a harder puncher and better fighter imho.

    Good stuff Sugarsean

I'll have a look when I get home. I've only really taken a bit part notice of Steele if I'm honest, and first came across him when I was looking into Ken Overlin. I'll be sure to check him out further :good

And we'll certainly have to agree to disagree regarding Wilde and Lynch!

As for Lynch, the better fighter IMO, and certainly a better puncher than his K.O% would suggest going on the footage we have of him. I'd favour him to beat Wilde, for sure.
