    Rematches are for fights like ortiz vs berto, peterson vs khan. You lnow close competive fights not one sided ones.

    I view at as something on par with Pac taking on Clottey.
    It was just... pointless.

    You can make a case of how Clottey was a legit opponent at WW, but we all know from the start that he will get totally outclassed.

    Same case with Cotto here. Only it's worse since WE ALREADY SAW IT BEFORE and Pac completely dominated Cotto.

    Silliest move of team Pac in recent years. This will probably damage Pac's legacy than enhance it.

    Reason why the fight will happen;

    It will happen at a catchweight of 150 lbs. They'll hype Cotto up as a different fighter fighting at a more comfortable weight(even though weight supposedly had nothing to do with the outcome of the first fight). Pac supporters and Puerto Ricans will buy into it and the fight will make a lot of money. So Pacquiao will make a lot of money in this fight, he has little shot of losing, and he has a good shot of scoring a KO, something he hasn't done since he last fought Cotto a couple of years ago. Compare that to him fighting Floyd. Floyd would air all his dirty laundry, and embarrass him in the pre fight buildup. Floyd would then embarrass him during the fight.

    Actually one of the other threads has a source from a philli interview with pac stating he will never go up past 147 again becuse hes body cant handle it well (which is fine and true as he never makes 147 for hes 147 bouts.

    That being said unless the fight is at 154 it simply should not be made SIMPLE. And in the interview he says he wouldent even go 148.

    Wow, I guess I overestimated Pacquiao. He guess he knows people will watch him fight anyone. This tells me that Pacquiao is looking for a knockout in the worst way. He's gone the distance in 4 straight fights, and only really looked great against Margo. I have a feeling though that Cotto might flip the script and just run the entire fight.

    Pac deserves all the hate he's gonna get if the rematch with Cotto happens.

    One of Pac's weaknesses is that he can easily be manipulated. Arum has struck again. This fight sucks.

    Pointless fight...but, not surprising these days for Manny Cherrypickiao. I guess they figured Marquez would be too risky. Peterson makes no money. Bradley would be too risky and makes no money. Floyd would be a sure loss and a difficult pill to swallow (though the most lucrative option). So, Cotto is just right...good payday, surely winnable. This is all speculative of course...haven't heard the final decision yet. So, I may have to retract these statements. Oh well...
