I honestly don't see the big problem with Pac-Cotto 2...

Obviously it's a duck of epic proportions by Team Pac, but if he's not going to fight Floyd, I don't see the huge problem with Cotto.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm not the biggest Cotto fan in the world, but I have to be honest... I think Cotto will make this a decent fight. He seems to be a sound fighter with only a couple of flaws he needs to either correct or minimize.

Pac is not unbeatable, although I'm not all the way convinced Cotto is the man to do it. Unlike what a lot of you claim, I will be tuning in. And I'll be expecting a better fight than the first time.

EDIT: I just wanna add that I do have a problem with the 147-pound weight. I think it's an obvious way of trying to gain an advantage.

How about we be realistic instead.

As soon as Pacquiao hits Cotto, he's going to be the same Cotto and end up getting beaten up.

Take his wins over Foreman, Mayorga and Margarito for what they were. Pacquiao is not any of these guys. He'll annihilate Cotto in another pointless fight.

I pray it bombs and hurts Arums pocket.

I dont either. I think its the best fight that can be made for Pac if the Mayweather fight doesnt come off. I think Cotto has earned the rematch and can win this second go around.

Agreed. With the exception of the ducking stuff. Not commenting on whether it is true or not. I simply don't know, or care about which side is right or wrong. Just wake me when/if they finally fight.

    As for the rest, 100%.

It would be an acceptable fight if not for the fact that Floyd vs. Pacquiao is the only fight that makes sense or is worthy for either guy. We've already seen Pacquiao vs. Cotto and there's no reason to believe this one ends any differently. Such a waste.

Can anyone in this thread explain why you expect the 2nd fight to be better then the 1st?

Cotto v Mayweather is a 10x better bout IMO.

    1. It's something new that we haven't seen before.
    2. **** Arum.

I picked against Pac in just about every fight. When he beat Cotto in the way he did, he made me a believer. 3 or 4 years before that fight, people would've laughed at the prospect of Pac movign up the weights to dominate Cotto.

Still love my Miguel though :tong

Cotto seems to be much more focused. Not to mention Diaz can have an actual gameplan going into this fight(unlike when he had Santiago and was literally training himself). He looked good vs Margacheato and pac didnt look so good vs Jmm. but we will see.

It's better to give Bradley a shot now because 2 yrs from now if Bradley finally gets a chance Pac might be shot. If MP never gives a "young, hungry lion" a chance then he will be heavily criticized for putting money over competition. I'm not saying money is not important but MP earns at least $20M fighting anyone. Therefore he should be challenging solid newcomers instead of recycling guys he's already beaten.

I'd take Bradley over this sorry excuse for a fight any day of the week. Maybe if Cotto had looked stellar in his fights after his first fight with Pac I'd be a little more interested. But it was an ass whoopin' of epic proportions, so lets move on. Cotto beating Margarito doesn't mean much to me because he was whoopin' his ass the first fight too until he decided to stand his ground and trade. He just didn't have the corner help to keep him focused.

So this is a pointless fight, IMO. As pointless as a Mayweather/Marquez II.
