It is funny how people got pumped up about those victories over ex-champions and when Helenius had an awful night everyone turned their backs to him. This is what boxing is all about. Fans makes too high expections and when some unexpected thing happens they are more than ready to talk nothing but ****. Helenius resume is still amazing if you think how rookie he is in this game. He turned pro 2008, cmon guys! Is there any other prospects that has same kind of resume in recent years? Wlad was fighting bums when he was 24-0 and got stopped by Puritty in his next fight. AND STILL, Helenius-Liakhovich and Helenius-Chisora were the best heavyweights fights of 2011 (really, was there any better?) and everything you can do is: whine

I give my all support to Helenius. He is brave and different when compared to other prospects: He is not scared to fight!

 

I agree that he is not a polished fighter and that Wlad should win. But the question is he a threat. Any man that has the reach and size to prevent Wlad from staying behind his jab, and the power to knock guys like Sam Peter cold will always be a threat.

 

And a heart.

And some killer instinct.

And a left jab.

And Some, ANY kind of defense.

He's a threat, in terms of a punchers chance, and physical size. But his winning odds is obviously looking less likely now. 6 Months off from injuries is a considerable step back for his career at this stage. When fighters go through these hand surgeries, their never going to be fighting at the absolute maximum potential.

After first right hand or left hook from Wlad he will quickly change his mind. He never met anyone who bangs even close to wlad. Wlad is also superior in all aspects but chin.

Is Helenius a threat to Wlad today...NO, he recovering from possibly career altering surgery to the best of my knowledge. MIGHT be back late summer, IF HE'S LUCKY. But he is a ****ing warrior going into the Chisora fight with a strained ligament in his (R)forearm, then fighting on after busting his metacarpals in the same hand with the FIRST hard one he landed on the bumrushing Derek.

How do you write off a guy like him with an iron chin, massive 1 punch KO power, and a steel will?:think:-(

IMO, he's still gonna be the next UNDEFEATED and UNDISPUTED HW Champion of the World, and until someone proves me wrong, I jumping off ship. And it will take a much better man than Potvetkin to do it.:deal
