IDIOT Lorenzo Fertitta on Fighter Pay

Discussion in 'MMA Forum' started by monaroCountry, Jan 15, 2012.

  1. Fertitta is a dumb ****. ESPN made those billions through other shows that they paid huge amounts of money to make and host.

That ESPN fighting show does not constitute the whole damn ESPN company and does not make 100% of their revenue (profit might only be less than a million while paying out 50%). Whereas MMA is the whole of the UFC and MMA is where UFC makes 100% of their whole revenue. The main problem is that the UFC is only putting in 5-10% to the fighter, who like their boxing counterparts should be paid more.

Why do you hate the UFC so much? They have the best guys in the world so just sit back, relax and watch some MMA brah.

  3. Dont you know? its called Ultimate Fighting and only those who fight in the UFC can be considered good, yes even Brock Lesnar.

I dont hate, I just appreciate the fact that MMA is more than one promotion and worthy fighters come from all corners of the globe.

I also dont like the barbaric/street brawl entertainment that UFC portrays, it demeans the SPORT of MMA.

I also dont like the fact that UFC loves to tear down other sports i.e. boxing, other promotions i.e. Bellator/M-1/Dream, and other fighters i.e. Fedor.

  4. Someone must shine a questioning light on these shady mafia scums. All the MMA media is too scared to report dissenting views and too busy sucking up to Zuffa nut sacks.

Someone should tell Lorenzo that when you play in the big league (ESPN), your bully boy schoolyard tactics wont work.

  11. How much money do those shows get for ESPN and are those even high quality international fighters? For boxers those getting a shot might initially get smaller pay (initially) but the progression is pretty much at an exponential rate and the percentage comapred to the revenue is still high from start up to the big leagues.

Lets have a look at the top money earner in boxing and how his progression was.

No MMA fighter will approach this, even the top most experienced and more profitable fighters in the UFC. The best example is Shane Carwin who at that time was hyped up as the baddest in MMA, ranked by zombies as #1 or #2, and who held the UFC HW belt. Carwin only got $40,000 to fight Brock and that was a very profitable event for the UFC. This is because the Fertitta refuse to pay their fighters their worth and the $$$$ the earn for Zuffa.

And if ANY fighter refuse to work with the UFC (like Fedor) then the UFC will do it best to tarnish said fighters reputation and the reputation of their promoter.

As I see it, Zuffa is a shady company. Look at that ESPN interview. Im sure Zuffa NEVER had permission from ESPN management to record that ESPN interview.

ZUFFA AND THE FERTITTAS ARE SNEAKY!!!

  12. Irrational?

Im saying that UFC fighters should be making more and be paid what they deserve. What wrong with sticking for the welfare of the fighters?

Im not the only one to point this out too.

Ah, I see, you're acting altruistically. Very noble. Kudos.

Good to know you're perfectly informed about what all, and I do mean all, the fighters make and the esoteric nuances of the finances of the UFC and what they do with every dollar, because you clearly have an opinion on the matter that is based on such knowledge and not some silly sort of bias.

I'm glad someone with such strong opinions is so well informed because you would look really silly if you didn't have such information and were making speculative guesses based off of fractured bits of information and clear personal biases. But you're not the type to do that, right?

I see a rich fertitta bashing espn for making so much money, you know im sure most of that revenue comes from boxing no doubt :-(, and paying a 4 round fighter a few hundred dollars. :patsch

Those 4 round fighters on FNF are nothing but grateful and lucky to be televised, usually they only show those fights when the co-main event ends quickly and they need filler, those fighters are stoked to be on espn, espn makes most of its money from coverage of MANY MANY sports not just boxing, im sure ESPN boxing programs like FNF have low ratings compared to football or basketball, even ncaa level,

Unlike the UFC that overcharges for everything, and Fertitta has the nevre to bash espn, ESPN does not have a monopoly on boxing, they do NOT have full control over each boxer's contract who appears on FNF, unlike the ufc that overcharges for everything and has a tight grip on each fighters career, no organization competes with the ufc and when they start to become competitive, they get bought out :deal Now watch the video again and pay attention this time

Actually I was moreso trying to point out your error in the number he said. Although now I'm sure you'll simply say it was a typo, there is a difference between million and billion... one is exactly 1,000 times more than the other.

Just for reference. Or you could read too much into it, that works, too.
