conspired is a tremendous word. use it more.

the highlighted point is pretty much the crux of the issue. HBO preach about the alphabet soup yet do this ****. zbik isnt good enough for the middleweight champ but hes great for chavez? its annoying for the fighters who DESERVE money and shots.

are you sure it wasnt the cuello fight? the bald argie? I swear the crowd were booing? I might be wrong and il obviously bow your superior knowlegde (is there no whorship emicon?). no manilow. or sarcasm

  2. Agreed.

He's not going to come back because many people are of the opinion that all he's got to do is land a right hand on anyone not named Klitschko and the Gods would grant him victory, when in truth it's complete bollocks.

He's good enough in my opinion to achieve that, but it's a risk he won't take, because he doesn't need the money and it won't really add to the legacy (if he has one) that he'll leave behind.

I do think that when he's long retired he will wonder what if, but he sold himself out for the dollar and made himself look a prized prat in the process, so I've no sympathy.

Huck is always in fun fights, I can see this.

I've never understood some of the flak that Fury gets either..... Brook is obviously a talent but some of the mongs on here proclaiming him as the best WW of all time kinda put people off

just that i thought you meant haye stops every heavy aside from the klits (and valuez) early when in reality it took him some times to stop barrett and ruiz

i agree, hes wasting his talent. wlads gona be arond for 3/4 more years as good as he is so its not likes hes waiting til he goes to do it

Rightly or wrongly I think it's down to the first Agbeko fight, man. Even when you think back to the first build-up thread there was a lot of fanfare around Mares which has dwindled considerably. I don't think it's a coincidence to be honest.:conf

As you know, I've always been a massive backer of his, but I have become more flaccid due to the first Agebko encounter, which I consider to be an Agbeko win(I know you don't agree, but you ain't changing my mind:yep). I know the finger should be pointed primarily at Russell Mora, but it was ridiculous just how far over the line(or south of the border, if you will) Mares was stepping over the course of that fight, with such blatant fouling I'm not surprised people don't think as much of him.

I still think he's very good though, and could prove to be the best fighter below 126lbs in good time. Hopefully he trounces Moreno.
I try to use words once to avoid repitition.

Despite your ''no sarcasm'' I still detect a hint of pedantry in your tone........:think

As I say, of course it's not right, at all. But that is Bob Arum that has construed things to suit Top Rank. Honestly, do you think Chavez himself really had a significant part to play in terms of Martinez getting screwed? I don't, he was just a financial cog for both Arum and HBO as far as I can see it. If I was to label every fighter who Bob Arum has used for money at the expense of another a fraud then there'd be an awful lot a fighters I'd be unfairly looking down upon. For me, it's just further reason to dislike Arum, not a reason to dislike Chavez Jr.

And Cuello was indeed the bald Argentine, though a robbery it was not, in my opinion. I may be wrong but I believe the home fans were booing due to Chavez's sub-standard performance, not necessarily the decision, which to be honest I didn't see anything all that incorrect in. I did think Vanda beat him though, and those scorecards were heinous as well, though I don't think it'd be out of the realms of reality to score it to Jr by a point, or save his skin with a draw.

Shame to judge him by that 1 fight, although if thats why people don't like him fair enough, defo deserves abit of credit at least, being a young champion willing to take on all comers:good

    Andre Berto.

First words mentioned with his name are 'HBO Hypejob', but still think he's got alot of talent. Shame the haiti disaster happened at the time it did, because i was really looking forward to seeing him face Mosley, would've been the perfect name to get on his record at that time.

Needs to tighten up defensively and not gas late on.

Yeah mine too. That 3rd fight with Marquez was unreal. One of the best fights I've seen.

I agree, it's just a theory though and he still has time to rectify it anyways. I've got like 18 of his fights, and even if you were to just briefly watch them it's obvious there's a reason why he was so highly thought of. As long as he stays away from Donaire and keeps himself at bantam for a while he'll make up for it anyways, in my opinion.

I'd like to see him do well, entertaining style and he seems like a nice dude, which makes up for his once horrific facial hair and will in time make up for the Agbeko debacle I would imagine.
    Further seeds of doubt.

EDIT: SOK, you trying to annoy me?

I see many people calling Andre Dirrell a ****** and a coward and a **** fighter which is beyond pathetic. I rate Andre Dirrell, he is a fine pure boxer.
