    Khan article on BBC

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/16450797.stm

    these comments are particularly annoying

"referee Joseph Cooper not counting a knockdown of Peterson and deducting two points from Khan for pushing (something for which points are almost never deducted), both of which ended up having a direct impact on the outcome of the fight"

    sorry if already posted, delete.

I think it's a good thing when fighters are sore losers because it means they just can't accept the defeat, i.e they are winners. So many of the greats were like this, just look at Duran for example, he has so many embarrassing excuses, what a guy. But Khan is taking it too far. I thought he ****ing lost.

What annoyed you about that particular comment? It's true.

Agreed he's getting boring but not sure why you picked up on that quote.

  5. It's a fair comment from Khan, but then again it's not every day a fighter spends so much time pushing to make a deduction necessary.

    He lost, fair and square.

theres a difference between nudging or sly pushes the likes of floyd does to get distance and the blatant, repeated, two armed playground "come on then you throw the first punch" pushing Khan was doing.

  7. I've seen blokes pushing cars on World's Strongest Man put less effort into a shove than the one Khan was done for in the 12th.

He bent his knees, leant forward and gave it the best he could :yep

Well to be fair, I've never seen two points deducted for pushing in any fight in history. In fact I can't off the top of my head think of seeing one point deducted for pushing.

Yes he did it, but it's happened in lots of fights. Had no issue with him losing though and thought it was very close regardless of deductions.

Bit unfair, the ref had called break and Peterson proceeded to hit Khan, who then pushed him away

Don't recall other fighters being docked points for pushing, it is highly unusual

Think it was a close and therefore fair decision but on the pushing he has a point

I would LOVE it if Top Rank backed Peterson and appealed this ruling because of the blatant, brutal punch landed by Khan after the referee had instructed them to break which undoubtedly negatively effected his fighting ability

Whether there is consistency in points being deducted for pushing is not the point though imo. The points where deducted and rightfully so. Other fighters get away with it, that's unfortunate. What does Khan want to do here, go back and review every fight in history in which there has been pushing and alter the scorecards? He needs to stop this now. It's unfortunate, that's all I can say on it.
