Is it possible Bernard Hopkins could be on steroids given his refusal to take a simple urine test after the Pascal fight, and (after some losses) his resurgence at such a late age? This is a serious thread so please no trolling. I'm of the belief it is also a very real possibility Andre Ward may also be on performance enhancers, which would help explain why he refused to fight Kessler in Denmark when Mikkel was champ. For all Sauerland events according to their TV contract with ARD, the fighters must submit to random Olympic-style PED testing. Vote and discuss.
It's a distinct possibility, but no more distinct for Hopkins than it is for every other top professional boxer. Pascal's drug testing nonsense (unlike Mayweather's own variant) was only brought up after contracts were signed, which is an indication that it was nothing more than an attempt to play mindgames.
Any pro sports person may possibly be on PEDs, it's sort of in their interests to be. But Hopkins hasn't really improved, his losses were all close against tricky styles and anyway he just bitched out and quit against Bad Chad
Considering he fights 60 years after steroids' first known happening in international competition, and has fought throughout so many known rampant PED eras in other sports, I would say yes. Yes is the always the answer to this question from me no matter who it is. Add in that he has an all time record of physical longevity, then yes, it's a hell yes.
Ofcourse, how else would a fighter get slower, not hit as hard, have their punch resistance decline and see their stamina decrease without the aid of ped's oh wait....
Didn't know he refused to give a sample after the Pascal fight. How come this isn't more well-known ?
According to the logic of most people, yes, it is very possible that Bernard Hopkins is on steroids. Guilty until proven innocent.
Also notice how his body looks since the Tarver fight? he's losing muscle mass, see the Tarver fight then compare it with how he looks in the 2nd Pascal fight. But ofcourse maybe he's on ring IQ ped's
