Hi everybody! I'm super-excited about going to my first fight ever live but I've been reading some of the messages here and I admit i'm a little bit intimidated. I always thought I knew boxing better than most of my friends because my uncle used to fight. But there are guys here talking about stances in this position to the right of this guy or that guy and whether the guy is left-handed being totally different. I'm a little bit worried that I'm going to go to a boxing match and feel like a total f'kn idiot because I don't know any of that stuff. So I wanna start training! I have until Feb 11th (my b-day!) to learn everything I can so that I can look at the fight and not think I'm wasting money because I'm missing all of the subtle things. Also, if I run into Ortiz I can impress him with my knowledge and he'll fall in love with me, LMAO. Can you guys help me out? What is required watching for me to become a boxing expert? What should I know? HELP!

Watch Mayweather-Baldomir and Klitschko-Brock... Yes, these were the first fights I actually watched with interest. And yes, I still somehow watch boxing.
Um. That's a big list. Can we narrow it down to, like, "this is boxing 101". Like maybe an article or video on what to look out for in a fight? like, "look at how the guy's hands are moving forward but his head is moving to the right. That is called a "faker paker" or whatever"
Two of my favorite fighters ever. This fight was very good and had a lot of significance [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bUctIwy3dg&feature=related[/ame]
Thanks so much! I DO know Chavez. He was my uncle's favorite boxer. He fought Oscar De La Hoya, right? I'm going to watch that fight tonight. Thanks!
LMAO! Sorry, I was just giving an example of the kind of thing I was looking for for boxing training, lol. I couldn't think of any other example.
