- Cotto keeping his left hand up now instead of dropping it, and subsequently not getting tagged with rights hands like he used to. - Cotto using his right hand a LOT more. And putting power behind it. No longer a one arm fighter. - Cotto using spectacular lateral movement, twisting / turning to the side and spinning his opponent. - He's throwing COMBINATIONS again. - He's learned to CLINCH. Enough said. To put it simply this is the best Cotto I've ever seen. He may not be as fast or as athletic as he was a few years ago, but in terms of ring IQ, boxing skill, he's at his very best. I'll take this Cotto over any other version. I would love to see him fight Mayweather , I think he'd give him a very hard fight ,especially at 154. Pacquiao - Cotto 2 might be more competitive than the last but Pac is still too much for him imo.
so you could praise Floyd and switch sides after he beats what you think is the best Cotto ever? you're too deep in to jump ship now tasco
he is using some good skils again. Bu he's also not quite as quick. The main differance for me was Margarito was notably slower and declined. Where as Cotto was roughly the same. I still want to see cotto vs mayweather.
I was very impressed. But i want him to use that left to the body more. I'm happy he uses his right more now. It's great he finally got that shoulder sorted out.
I'm not sure about a Mayweather fight right now, but his game was spot on that night. Not only with movement and a better right hand, but much better balance, a tighter defense on the inside, more punch variety, and a more efficient guard.
