I promised a few nice guys here who were giving me tips on Vegas that I would post a trip report with some photos of the fight and my adventures, so I will add my expert commentary on the fights to show you what I've learned!
LMAO! It doesn't seem that bad so far. It would be nice to find some other ladies around but everybody has been very nice so far!
Classics: Gatti-Ward 1 Corrales-Castillo 1 and 2 Marco Antonio Barrera-Erik Morales 1, 2, and 3 Aaron Pryor Vs. Alexis Arguello 1 & 2 Muhhamad Ali Vs. Joe Frazier 1, 2, and 3 Joe Frazier Vs. Jerry Quarry 1 and 2 Sugar Ray Leonard Vs. Marvin Hagler Marvin Hagler Vs. Thomas Hearns Manny Pacquiao Vs. Erik Morales 1 These are some of my Favorites. Since your a newbie here are some good modern fighters to watch: Saul Alvarez, Alfredo Angulo, James Kirkland, Lucian Bute, Andre Ward, Bernard Hopkins, Tavoris Cloud, Steve Cunningham, Yoan Pablo Hernandez, Erislandy Lara, Paulie Malignaggi, Amir Khan, Timothy Bradley, Mike Alvarado, Brandon Rios, Michael Katsidis, Ricky Burns, Yuriorkis Gamboa, Daniel Ponce De Leon, Mike Jones, Kell Brook, Dimitry Pirog, Sergio Martinez, Gabriel Campillo, Andre Dirrell, Anthony Dirrell, Carlos Molina, ect. Long list. Check out some of them!
Alot of great fights on there! HOWEVER, MMH v Tommy "the Hitman" Hearns has to be Number 1, Tyson v Ruddock 1 is better than 2. few other minor points but great list over all
That list of 100 fights is great. I'm also a fan of showing Mayweather-Gatti to people. Entertaining fight with good action, plus it demonstrates how pure boxing can school brawling.
Gatti vs. Ward I Corrales vs. Castillo I Hagler vs. Hearns Those are the three I re-watch most often.
I watched Gatti Ward and liked it so much I watched the other Gatti Ward fights too. Oh my god! That was such a great suggestion! During my breaks today I'm going to watch Hagler Hearns. I'm just gonna start with the names I've heard of and ease my way to the names I never heard of )
Just a tip, the most exciting fights usually involve a lot going on that doesn't always lend itself to you figuring out how things work in the ring. So by all means, keep pumping yourself up with the classic wars, but try alternating by watching the ones I mentioned that detail certain tactical applications; many of my recommendations are straight up wars within themselves actually! You've got a lot of time before the fight though.
Yes so true! I was having so much fun watching it that I never had a chance to see what things I saw from Hopkins that I could apply to watching the fight. Maybe I will watch a Hopkins fight and see if I could take his advice and see where he uses it himself. That would be a great education!
I think she's catching on. Watching Hopkins after watching Gatti/Ward will teach you the difference between tactical brilliance and sheer blunt force.
Dont forget to post a bunch of naked pics when you get back. As a thanks for all the great tips you've been given.
