Well it's not like Floyd made Martinez do it. If Martinez volunteered to go down weight to entice a matchup with Floyd it would be his own fault if he wasn't 100% if Floyd accepted the terms. Just like if Manny had accepted Shane's challenge when he volunteered to go down to 140 to make the fight. Whatever happened is on them because they offered.

Now going into negotiations, and adding to the terms that the opponent must come in at a certain weight or no fight, is a completely different situation.

Great post. Hell, even at 154 its a 50-50 fight, but maybe Sergio is that confident. Or desperate. Or both. Sergio would be the one to blame if he had a bad performance.at 150 it was his decision, but then he may or may not be as affected as we might think. He did say he want to drop weight safely back down to 154. Especially for his age that's an enourmous task, but then again he doesn't fight like a 37 yr old either.

Yes because they're not great(Can be if they fight each other if that makes sense). Also don't have that heart of the ol days when fighter were great. Man I wish I were around in the 60's-00's(00's because of Morales and Barrera really) and was a huge boxing fan then. This era sucks :fire

 And people try to compare nowadays stars to him. Feel sorry for people that dumb.

I think he meant because Armstrong was in some catchweight fights of his own.

Yeah, he probably did. Can't blame him since he held three belts in 3 weights at the same time but a catchweight is still a catchweight. Crap I'm riled up!

Martinez should NOT accept a catchweight. After the Ortiz fiasco, Mayweather really can't afford to make such demands after finally taking a meaningful fight.

    I won't rate the win unless it's above 154

If Martinez takes that fight? It is all on him.

Martinez should be going up the same way Abraham did. Why is he seeking glory BELOW his weight class? Two classes below!

As for people talking trash about weight, Martinez is talking up the fight. He wants to fight smaller guys then he needs to become a smaller guy. Same way FMJ fought ODLH at 154. You call a guy out, go beat him in HIS house.
