One lil interview n everyone goes all crazy.. Don't you think his team will advise him to take on Canelo for more money and less risk???; especially being that it's Cinco de Mayo..

Geez I know Floyd is scrambling for a big fight, but cut the **** :patsch

Just a few weeks ago when I was begging for this fight you *****'s gave me wave after wave of excuses as to why it shouldn't happen :yep

Martinez is fighting Macklin... LET IT GO :hi:

He already said Alvarez is too green for him. Cotto has a higher chance of getting it than Saul.

Not once did Floyd say that Martinez was a fight he'd want on May 5th, so...............

this thread is kind of pointless.

"If Sergio Martinez can make 150 we can make the fight, absolutely. There are no excuses. If he can make 150, let's make it happen."-- Floyd Mayweather Jr. boxing scene.com

Struggled against Gomez? ? Laughable ... in no point was Gomez in control as canelo had no problems and was toying with gomez who carried no power so canelo had 0 respect he even employed some new defensive tactics learned from mayweather and was doing some slick ginger business leading up to the t k o.. did he lose some rounds doing the shoulder roll? Maybe.. he won many black fans that day employing that slick ginger American style..

Struggled? lmao Gomez was nothing .. canelo even knocked him down with a hard stiff jab... struggled? PLEASE deactivate hater mode bitches

Why would I hate on Canelo?.. He's a strong young fighter that has much to prove, but wasn't impressive against Gomez who is a C- fighter.

"Saul Alvarez doesn’t impress in stopping Alfonzo Gomez in six"

I'm no hater, I like the kid; all I'm saying is he's nowhere near ready for Floyd Mayweather :-(.

"For the 5th, if Pac don't step up."

I don't see that said anywhere in the interview. See how details can be blurred without being crystal clear. Example:

"Pacquiao has agreed to Floyd's terms to take the test leading up to the fight." - Bob Arum quote from 2010

"Manny agreed to Floyd's test. It's no longer an issue." - Media and many boxing fans theory

"Saying you'll take a test leading up to the fight doesn't mean all the way up to the fight." - My theory I argued with many others on ESB

"We wanted a 7 day cut off." - A detail Koncz would let slip during a 24/7 episode later on.

You gotta pay attention to the details. In closing.............

ASSUMPTION IS THE MOTHER OF ALL ****-UPS!:good

Obviously you didn't catch what I was saying and that I was disputing the interview as well.

You use the interview as a tool to make a point that the fight won't happen on the 5th. I'm simply saying that the fight was never mentioned in the interview as a possibility on the 5th to begin with. But simply a possibility in the future(however far that may be.) Then you posted the statement Floyd made and I simply posted an EXAMPLE of how things can be easily taken out of context without paying attention to what is said. So in actuality you started defending your position when we actual agree. But for some reason you felt I was attacking you.

Wouldn't it be a lovely "**** you" to Arum if he did fight Martinez on May 5 for a Middleweight title?

MW title at 150lbs? No. Besides, Floyd's just talking, he's not thinking Martinez for a second.
